I started thinking after using my 3DS for awhile I am feeling a little more comfortable putting Homebrew on it. Although it's obviously going to have limitations since it's on FW 11.XX-U I had some questions about it.

1. What is possible to install & not install on my 3DS (Besides CFW.)

2. Is the latest method (Occuriana of Time Hacks) still working? Is there any info on if it will be patched?

3. (If this makes any sense.) Is it possible to use Homebrew, then once a new FW releases be able to update by simply removing the Homebrew exploit from your SD Card.

4. Would you be able to to use certain cheats/hacks with a power save pro & PC

5. Is it possible to play homebrew games on a 3DS on this FW.

Thanks,

See the guide
And if you are 11.1 or less, you can install legit CIAs using FBI and Slowhax.
All the homebrew on 11.2

You use HANS for ROM hacks, but I don't think cheats can work outside of CFW. But you can still use Powersavs because those aren't effected by OFW
Yes, you can use homebrew games if you can get homebrew access.

4. You can use PowerSave on any firmware.

So I wanted to just make sure; Can I install applications, that can alter the 3DS Safely as long as it's meant for the 11.XX-U Firmware/OFW (Old Firmware?) (I am on the latest Firmware.)

I still have a Freaky Forms Deluxe game lying around so I might be able to still exploit it to get into Homebrew

You can only install legit CIAs on 11.1 and below, you can't do anything else like the H&S injection. Those features require a CFW to work properly.

Well avoiding the CIA's, bummer. I thought I could install some Homebrew utility's like a 3DS Hombrew shop (a place where you can download some items for Homebrew.) Or other apps.

Thank you for helping me, and answering my question :). I just wanted to make sure I had an opportunity to take advantage of my 3DS.

You can still use Homebrews through the launcher, but yeah they still need a CFW to be installed to the Home menu

There is a vulnerability that should allow for downgrading anything below 11.2 without DSiWare, but there is not yet an exploit that makes that an actual realistic possibility. And I don't have the hardmods to test one... or the expertise to write one.
My advice? Find that ISO site, download all the dumped legit CIA tickets, and use slowhax/waithax to get ARM11 kernel to run FBI and install them to your system. And hold off on updating if you want.

Damn that case is huge, but is cool.
  • D @ dadadad:
I was installing mods for games, but when I removed the romfs folder, an error occurred. Now when I try to launch the game, I see a yellow screen, and I have to reboot the switch. Reinstalling the game didn't help. Can you advise me on what to do to launch the game without mods?
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    @dadadad delete sd:\atmosphere\contents
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should find out from the mod dev how to uninstall it. Every mod is different on how you install/uninstall.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@The Real Jdbye Wouldn't that take out bunch other stuff also?
  • D @ dadadad:
Is it safe to delete the entire atmosphere folder? I don't remember what else was there, like edizon and tesla menu are installed through atmosphere, is it not a problem, will I not damage the system? There were too many mods, I won’t be able to contact each one, nothing was said about deleting in the description.

The installation was only through rofms and in the game folder in content. What else can I do?
