Ah, ok. Well as long as it's showing up in Emunand. That's all that really matters, since you don't plan on installing Mset atm. :P
Yeah, well thanks for your patience!

I decided 'why not' and tried to install MSET using a ds flashcard, but when I run rninstaller.nds and select the option you say in your tutorial, all it does is change my ds profile name? Any ideas?

Did you install NVram via Gateway menu & Mset_usa.cia with Devmenu.cia?
Did you even get Devmenu to persist on your Sysnand?

You're certain you're using Devmenu and not BigBlueMenu right? I only ask because i'm fairly sure that's a problem with using the wrong title manager / devmenu version for this step (but others have successfully used this version of devmenu)

Also, for FBI. You'd need to manually delete the mset file from Sysnands NAND before being able to install the 'new' one over it.
^Not exactly noob friendly, so it was left out of the tut^

I am using 1.1b, also when I install something with fbi and select SD as the destination, I can still see the app/game on my system when I am not booted into any cfw, is this normal?
Yes, as long as the emuNAND and sysNAND are linked or it is just a sysNAND without NAND redirection. The icons get cached in the homemenu save data.

but its a custom os for both of them

    designed for only specific hardware

It's a locked down Linux distro basically

I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip

    Probably combined in one chip

  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
