Hardware PSX/PS2 Games on PS3 with mclassic

Hey folks,
here's a little question for those who got a mclassic HDMI adapter as well. My problem is that on my PS3 CFW all PSX and PS2 Games run with 720p (Fullscreen Setting) and thats it. No upscaling with the mclassic. But if I start my Ratchet & Clank Game, which I downloaded from PS Store years ago, that one will upscale to 1440p even though its also a PS2 game.

I don't know the answer, but this video is the most complete about ps2 image quality, including playing ps2 games on ps3, with OSSC, mcable and others :

Are you sure the problem games are in 720p? The mClassic can’t do anything with interlaced signals, so maybe the games are setting the console to 1080i [a little research tells me that nobody uses 720 i].
