Sorry to be another one to post stupid questions.

Anyways, I'm largely leaning towards the PSP Slim.
Reasons being double ram, brighter, slimmer (duh), and according to some people, a bit better buttons.
I heard some homebrew doesn't work but I figure most homebrews worth playing are ported and emulators are all working on it, so I guess no issues there.
Battery life is equal but can be extended with an original battery, anyone know a good place to get a battery + the phat backing? Has to be pretty cheap..

Then, onto questions not relating to Phat v. Slim.

On DX, Pandora batteries seem to be 10 bucks for Phats, 12 for Slims, but I think you can hold the Phat battery in and use it with the slim.

I was thinking I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone and buy this Pandora + Memory Stick./

I know it'll probably be slower than real ones, but should be suitable for most games. (Anybody bought that and have personal experience to speak from?)

Or should I buy the 12 dollar Pandora battery and somebody has a better link to a Duo memory card?

Yea I was thinking about waiting for a price drop but when it does what if the 2000's just go bye bye with no price drop?

I'm buying used most likely.

Also, if I don't get the 4 gig card how's speed of using this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820134717 with an adapter? Should I just get the 4 gig 12 dollar card?

Also, Dwight, reported.

Just go with this,

fastest 4gb pro duo out there I think.

That's definitely fast enough for most CSO and ISO for the ones it's not? Okay, cool, how about the doubly sized but not doubly priced 8gig?

My mom is getting a second job, a full time one where I'll be able to make 8 dollars an hour working under her.

So I can actually now splurge a bit more.
Plus she'll be bringing in a lot more money.. but enough about personal life.

Any memory stick above tiny ones can be used for CFW installing right?

I actually modded a friends PSP phat recently, and it was choking on my 8GB microSDHC class 6 A-Data with adapter. I can see why PSP phat people would need the fastest card around now, but I don't see any lagging or jitters on my slim when playing with microSDHC + adapter.

So, what you're saying is that the Slim's extra ram helps with games too? Awesome

I guess I'll just get that 8gig Lexar.
I know a microSDHC could be used for more things but all I could use it for would be my Supercard and I've played all there is on DS I would want to play.
Not many new releases matter to me either.
For instance, I don't even care about Kirby SSU or any others

So, guess all there is now is to wait until the PSP-3000.

what the difference form psp 2000 and psp 3000?

psp 2000 is a psp with a slimmer body and more sensitive buttons (they are more raised and more clicky they feel much better than the psp fat)
the psp 3000 is a psp slim with a brighter LCD screen that shows more colors, meaning no glare supposedly when you are playing outside under the sun.

here's the difference:

it's been claimed that the psp 3000 will have a significant reduction in battery life because of the brighter screen. However a recent blog from a sony developer states that they managed to cut down overall power consumption of the psp 3000, therefore there shouldn't be any loss in battery life. Only time will tell.

also aren't the sony Mark2 series of pro duos faster than that lexar one?

I would wait to buy a new PSP, personally, I'm going to wait for the PSP-3000 to be hacked, then I will go for that.
3000s are gonna be more expensive though.. and all they added was Mic and better screen?
Unless they upgraded the ram again and made a machine with zippier performance I don't really care about it.
I don't play games in the sun

lol @ playstation upgrading a system with "sun playability". They should know gamers do not go outside.

I am wondering if the 2000 will stop being sold in stores then, or on places like newegg or if i should buy the 2000 now because if they go bye bye then i have to save a bit more for the 3000
