I have PRO B8 installed as perma to 6.20

I was messing around with settings in the recovery mode and now my PSP Go! won't charge off the mains power adapter unless the battery is removed.

As soon as you turn it off again it refuses to charge from the AC adapter. When you plug it into the AC adapter when it is turned on it sees it as a USB device and tries to connect. If I turn off the PSP there is no charge light.

The only way I can charge it is to have it turned on and plug it into a laptop or PC USB data port. If the battery goes completely flat I have to remove the battery and re-install it so it will start and charge from the adapter again.

I was thinking of removing the perma patch and putting official 6.39 on to see if that fixes any registry or other screw ups I might have done.

So you completely opened up the PSP Go to take out the battery?

My guess is your AC plug is fucked.

I had to remove the back and disconnect it. Once I reconnected it the AC adapter works once.

I thought it was because I was messing with the USB charge setting in the recovery mode. I can't remember what the defaults are now. I also put the speed up memory card setting to always.

If you suspect it's because of a setting in PRO, you can uninstall PRO completely, than try charging it to see if that was the problem

USB charge lets you charge it without having to stay in USB mode, IIRC.
I've got this set so it wouldn't be that.

Also you don't need the memory stick speed up on...

How do you uninstall pro completely? I have removed the 6.20 patch.

Just run the PROUpdate again and select uninstall.

I removed PRO and re-installed OFW and it does the same thing.

It looks to be the charger.

If I plug it into the Go's charger it thinks it is a USB data device and tries to connect to it. When it fails to connect it won't start to charge. If I use a standard USB telephone or car USB charger the orange light comes on and it charges fine.

Is there any difference between the PSP charger and a standard USB charger? Will charging over night on a different charger do any damage?

I guess it could still be the data cable.
