Hey I just bought a used PSP Go, and I noticed that the battery life is odd. After I charge it overnight, I take it out and play it, and GPSP says its at 60% or 30% after like 30 minutes. Is this normal? I know there is no EXACT battery life for the Go, but I would like to know if there is a way to find the exact battery life it has, maybe via plugin or something like that? Thanks!

no that is normal, my psp go does the same thing. the psp go batteries are different than the 1000/2000/3000, those have a battery life indicator chip (i cant remember if its on the batery or in the psp), sony trying to save some money on the go did not install one in it or on the battery

the battery lasts about 4 hours depending on your settings(volume, screen brightness Wifi on/off Bluetooth on/off) and if the games is graphically intense

Homebrew cannot detect battery life properly on the PSP go, but the meter on the home menu should be pretty correct most of the time.

My SNES emulator always says I'm at 33% when I'm fully charged, haha. I've gotten used to it.

Well, my menu battery life thing is screwed up, too. It says I'm at 2 bars after roughly 35 minutes of playing GPSP. And that was after a full charge.

That does sound like it is showing the wrong amount of charge... but emulation tends to take a little more power. If you run a GBA game at 333Mhz it goes through battery faster than a PSP game at times.

Be careful of the GBA emulator. Certain revisions can screw the GO's battery if allowed to drain too far. After that they do not charge off the official cable.

Be careful with used PSP Gos. Careless people tend to overload the battery which reduces its life span. You are probably better off replacing the battery.

K, so I'd have to open my PSP then, right? Are there any risks, like the analog stick becoming screwed up after opening it?
The back-shell comes away easily without disturbing any electronics. The battery has a sticker over it and the connector can be little fiddly to remove. Other than that the battery lifts straight out.
