Gaming PSP fat - PSP slim(2000)

So I'm guessing a PSP2001 is mod able as well? My bro just gave me a PSP to mod for his friend so I'm wondering if its possible. Also model number can be found at the bottom of the PSP and behind the battery compartment? Cause that's how I'm guessing the model number
