Gaming psp emulator help

Well when I start dgen it starts up fine but it doesnt recognize my roms.they are not showing on my rom list and I was wondering if anybody knows where to put them. And the legend of zelda doesnt work for me on nester j. its version v1.11. And i want to know if it works for anybody else.
I'd apreciate any help.

Edit: I have the .70 version of dgen and I know there is a newer version out but they dont work. And if this helps my psp is 3.90 m33-3

For Sega Genesis ROMs, use Picodrive.

thank you I'm using it right now and it works great but does anybody know of any other nes emulators
