Well the newest(?) PSP Model, the PSP E1000, has been released here in Australia for a cheap Price. Anyway with Christmas coming up soon I was just wondering if the PSP E1000 is "hackable" yet to run Homebrew, PSP Backups etc. If anyone could answer my question that would be great, I'm pretty new to this whole PSP Hacking thing.

I don't think anyone knows anything of any substance about this. I'd gamble "probably" under something like a 6.60 LCFW but equally it could have some new security feature. All you can do is buy one and find out, or wait for someone else to do so.

Does it run 6.60 OFW? If so, as Xist says, 6.60 LCFWs (i.e. 6.60 PRO and 6.60 ME LCFW) should work, but I would wait until someone else tries it before you do. Signed user mode homebrew should definitely work though.

That would be a yes then... ;)

Quick edit - That thing looks immensely cheap and plasticky.....it's awful!

Hate the look of the bar along the bottom. Apart from that, I quite like the new design.

You'd think Sony would have released an update to fix the exploit in use for 6.60 and preinstalled it on the new consoles...it's like they don't even care anymore.

yeah... if PSP-E1000 weren't wifi-disabled, I would buy it... I also like this design ^^

I brought the new psp 1002 from Big W for $98(Aus). It's really easy to hack using the guide on this forum. Mine came with 6.60. I just used the 6.60 Pro to hack. I've been playing my old Playstation One games and all the new PSP games without any problems. It's nice and light weight. It takes about 1 minute to hack.

If this comes out in the US as an even-cheaper-than-the-3000 discount PSP version, I might actually want one for purse fodder.
I'm not likely to use any of the wireless features in public. And I hate having to keep my nicely-cared-for portable consoles in sleeves and cases because it makes my purse bulkier.

That picture doesn't match the model I brought. The top of the console is completely different.

If it only had WiFi, I'd buy one instantaneously to replace my old PSP-1000.

I mean, it's matte

Well i was discousing with some guys from one forum mainly about psp e 1000

It doesnt have Internet n mic so no skype.
Online gameplay can be fun,in some games.

Skin is collecting a dust that you cant see so it still has dust but
matte finish still has the fingerprints all over it.
Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.

Also i'd say someone who wanna buy new psp, first psp, save your money, buy psp e1000 for a cheap price hack it and have fun.

But its just my opinion,of course, its the best to hear what peoples who own psp e100o says, then you will know more about it.

Skype doesn't bother me, since I'm a PSP1000 user, and I wouldn't sincerely use Skype EVER on my PSP.

But I AT LEAST need Ad-Hoc. Don't give me Infrastructure (I don't really care about it), but I _NEED_ Ad-Hoc.

I can only hope that Sony will release an external add-on, like the ol' PSP GPS or PSP CAMERA.
