I have an extra PSP 2000 that I don't have a screen for. Initially I thought I'd be fine just getting an composite output cable, but I have found out that I still need to do some blind navigation around the menus to get the TV display to work. I also found out that a lot of actions need to be performed while the output is disabled; I had to update to 6.61 and install cfw blind as well. My goal is to basically make this PSP a TV console. I really would really like to know if there's a way to make the video output the primary display for for the device, so that it can power on and run any program without switching back to the main display.

You can select the external display by holding the brightness key for over 5 seconds, but remember that a 2000 requires a YPbPr cable configured for progressive scan for apps (as opposed to the XMB and media)
