A while ago I purchased a new unlicensed battery for my PSP2000 from somebody on eBay. I think it might have been a scam, however, as for some reason the battery shuts off randomly within about 45 minutes of gameplay when it still shows that there is about 73% of the battery left. Would this problem be solved if I bought a Sony-licensed battery, or is it a problem with my PSP? It's been a long time since I updated my CFW, as of right now it's 5.00 m33-6, but I don't think that could be the problem.

It's a problem of your battery. if there was a problem on your PSP 2000, it wouldnt switch from the beginning.
So buying an official battery from Sony would fix it for sure?

im not a technician but double check your unit, as well. It was just a first-aid thing. But if you can buy one, then that's very good. Always remember that buying fake things will always have misleading guidelines. For example, buying a fake battery with 10,000 mAh will result in a 500mAh power. Get my point?
