Psp 2000 analog stick not being detected

So i got a psp 2001 with a defunct analog stick. (Only input it gives is top left, AFAIK it means it is not connected.) Tried replacing it, still doesnt work, even when applying pressure next to the stick.
It is modded.

please help i am losing my mind over it and folks from reddit are not replying

have you put back the conductive film on the analog pins? don't know the proper word for it.
You can find online the schematic for ta-085.
ET004 is gnd and ET001 is vcc. check that.
You should also get some readings with a multimeter in diode mode for the the X and Y pins related to gnd.
