then my bad , it seem that i still need to work on my english ( i did learn it alone without school ) ......... never wanted to be on the defensive and don't know when did we get there, i am a peaceful man.
and the only think that i don't like about gateway is the brick. i know very well that alot of think are here just because of them. but for me a n3ds that cost 390€ in my country and with 9.2 or less is like shiny in pokemon . losing this console just because gateway is angry don't justify this for me. if i have money then i will buy game from nintendo and support the REAL innovator .

The fact stays:
1. Bricking consumers console is just plain bad.
2. Including code to brick consumers console is just plain bad.
3. Bricking unintended console because the added bricking code is just plain bad.
4. Targeting consumers console instead of their competitor is just plain bad.

As i mentioned before, it is gatecraps fault for the bricked consoles. There are enough option to stop their competitor, but crapgate choose to brick the (unawared) consumers console.

Way to go Gateway, they're not your official play by the rules company, they're underground, if you're using a flashcart you're as bad as Gateway, so they have no rules to stop them from bricking your shit if you use a clone.

DSTwo stooped really low by flat out cloning Gateway, they have been inactive for almost 3 years in the 3DS scene and all they could come up with was just a poor clone ? Ruined their reputation forever in my eyes.

No, if they inject bad code in their product and say it loud then most of ppl will avoid them, they work with vengeance on ppl that buy other flashcard that in most of time don't understand anything. for them they are all the same (flashcard) , only the price change. do you think every one know the " history of hacking 3ds" ? most of consumer don't know how to use winrar .

well this is the problem , you don't know if stuff will backfire and hurt even ppl that use the legit card. there was something like that years ago but i don't remember well.

Well, like some people have said, Gateway put out a warning for Supercard and DSTWO+ owners to not use the plugin. The ones that have had their consoles bricked are mostly at fault considering they're the ones who decided to use the Gateway launcher with DSTWO+ and ignored the warnings.

Putting a brick code, instead of using a safer method, was a terrible decision on Gateway's part, but, again, it's Supercard and DSTWO+ owners that ignored the warning and just went along with it thinking that nothing would go wong.

Sure, people can complain that it's Gateway's fault all they want, but, really, it's still mostly the DSTWO+ owners that have decided to ignore the warning that Gateway put out and got their consoles bricked.

Basically, there's a sign that says "No loitering!", but you loiter around anyway ignoring the warning and you get in trouble for it. Sure, you can get away with it, but you will get caught if you keep on doing it.

there is only 1 person that matter,s and that's supercard, gateway have the history of this and they even warned them when they released 3.5.0, yet supercard STILL encouraged their own users to go ahead and play in the minefield

you cant exactly blame gateway if supercard failed to pass that message along to their own users,
Gateway:- do not use the DSTwo with our firmware or bad things will happen
supercard:- go use the gateway firmware with the DStwo nothing bad will happen

I think it's one of those " illegal instruction " type of things. I'm not very familiar with coding and the systems ways of functioning. Bare with me. Let's say this "code" is designed to work Gateway cards and DS2+ cards together, BUT as Gateway stated; there is a fatal flaw in these two things working together that causes corruption...?

But they do make a good warning on their site telling people not to do it. Yes, very harsh punishment. But, they are free to do what they want with their hardware and software. Maybe people could read up a bit on both sites before using their content.

Either way, it's still mostly Supercard's and the bricked 3DS DSTWO+ owners' fault to decide to just go and use Gateway's launcher when the warning was put out there for them to see.

GW is forcing SuperCard to de-obfuscate and analyze GW's launcher code so they can make their own version available (brick code removed or simply changed to trigger if a genuine GW is detected). It's not impossible as people on GBATemp have done this before (although they were older launchers).

What GW *should* have done is simply to put in a banner and tell ppl to "buy the original" and a link to their reseller page, and perhaps give a $5 discount. What GW should NOT have done (and as far as we can tell, did not) is put in some background code that -when an Internet connection is available- "phones home" to GW with serial#, NNID, other personal info etc. What Gateway CERTAINLY NOT should have done is put in brick code that might accidentally trigger on actual GW users.

It's rather annoying they are doing this " Gateway piggy-back " thing to begin with. They need to just make up their own stuff.
