No, at this point it is wasting money if you choose to purchase a flash card when the same results of a flash card can now be achieved without a flashcard thanks to cfws. You can now invest in the 3DS scene without giving money to a company that practices shady behavior that attacks the wrong party in this whole stupid scenario.

Listen, I love what the likes of Gateway has done for the community as a whole, you're right, we likely wouldn't have CFWs if it weren't for Gateway, but that doesn't mean I should blindly support Gateway indefinitely, especially when their product is now (I hate to say it) obsolete and they don't adjust their practices in the slightest. As I've explained, some people may be ok with what they do, but not me, I could never finance that company, not for trying to bully customers into getting their product. My 3DS is special to me, I'd be super pissed if someone bricked it, and I can tell you that the last thing I'd do after all the dust was settled and I had a new product would be to then buy one of those products that was directly responsible for me having to get a new system to begin with. The logic to that is so baffling I just can't get past it.

See the thing is, you don't tell everyone in the real life scenario, only on your site selling your specific gun. If the consumer goes to another gun seller's website (and never visited the legit gun store's site) that nowhere once makes mention of the fact that you're using the wrong ammo with their product out of tha box, most all would agree that blame shouldn't be placed on the consumer who had a gun misfire despite no warning label actually being on the box, instead all blame should be placed on that gun seller that never once mentioned that their ammo isn't meant for their guns. Gateway shouldn't be attacking the consumer, they should be attacking the companies making the cards. That's all the logic that there is to this, and it makes perfect sense.

That'd be funny if GW checked for evidence of CFW on your system, and bricks if it finds anything. :P

They will defend themselves by saying, "It was reversed engineered from our loader! Thieves!".
    That is actually true.

I always pull up the same arguments because people like you think there is no more need for investment in the 3DS scene to capable people like the Gateway team (not CFW team because they cannot do this in a million years), so let's sum up a few things:
    - New 3DS 9.5+ emunand
    - New 3DS crypto that is soon to be coming that will prevent CFWs/Gateway from running New 3ds titles
    - Possibly new AP for o3ds that will prevent CFWs/Gateway from running latest 3DS roms

And FWIW, attacking the SuperCard company is exactly what Gateway is doing. The SuperCard brand is being tarnished to smithereens. The name will become synonymous with the chance of having your console bricked because they couldn't be arsed to create their own Launcher.dat

I'd guess Gateway do see it as an attack on Supercard, with the cosumer just being collateral damage.

Cause bricks while using DSTWO, permentatly put the doubt, that no matter what Supercard say, there may be a chance of brick=less supercard sales.

Strategy killed of the other clones and it's clearly not effecting their sales, so may as well stick with it.

Even if for now, CFW is on par, people will give in when GW gets a major feature (lets say >9.5 emunand on n3ds) that cfw doesn't have. Happened in the past, lots of "not buying Gateway", then once they cracked 7.X (I think, whatever smash needed to run), plenty gave in and went Gateway.

Yes, but they're attacking SuperCard by attacking the SuperCard's customer's 3DS, which is not the product of SuperCard, and is therefore an even greater attack on the customer. If the SuperCard itself can be bricked while the 3DS itself is not, as has been mentioned as indeed a possibility, then that is what Gateway should be doing. It's as I've explained, if Coke believed that Pepsi had stolen their formula, Coke wouldn't go out and poison the Pepsi supply so that the customers get a negative opinion of Pepsi and instead go to Coke. Not only is that incredibly stupid and unethical, it just doesn't make sense. Coke would attack Pepsi directly with lawsuits or whatever. Now I know that in the "business" of flashcards, lawsuits are kind of out of the question, but as I explained, deactivate the clone card itself, not the customer's 3DS, and if that isn't possible, well then don't freaking poison the Pepsi supply, nobody wins in that scenario. (or at least nobody should win in that scenario)

for all we know gateway could have the next big kernel exploit waiting in the wings until they ruin any belief that supercard are competent dev's, rig it up with enough booby traps to keep cfw devs on their toes for a good while and they just lap up all the 9.3+ monies and lets be honest the original dev's that deconstructed the last gateway FW's to reveal how to replicate it for CFW use didnt seem to pleased after their research was just hodgepodged into a rom loader so i'm not certain any other exploits would be as clearly mapped out by the usual top tier developers leaving the work to less able dev's

This is the exact reason I bought a gateway card if Gateway has something exclusive like 10.3 Emunand i'd be glad I own a gateway card because no one else including CFW will have it unless someone cracks their launcher.

well it also has the ability to absorb any publicly disclosed hax/entry points, im not knocking cfw its actually pretty good right now, but any developer that brings new things in my book is an asset, even if they can be jerks and be a bit sadomasochistic with clone users, as for clones, i have no time for them, either bring something new to the table or go away in my books

lets be honest clone teams care about one thing, lining their own pockets with minimal effort, they don't give 2 shits if your 3DS gets bricked as long as you gave them your money and them cloning a team known to do exactly that just proves it

Yeah - clones make an easy dollar off of suckers. They're not the people keeping up with Nintendo's fixes. They give you a piece of hardware that leaches off another companies success.

You might as well buy a Gateway. They're the people paving the road for this scene. Funding clones just takes away from the whole community. Who's going to keep up the hard work it takes to add features and maintain stability? These are important to competition and innovation. Not the clone companies.

    That's easy.
I've been playing on a 3DS XL (german EU version) on FW9.2.
My genuine Gateway was working like a charm with Emunand 9.2.

I've bought a DSTwo+ to only have one cartridge with me if I'm on a business trip or something with long traveling.
So I've setup the DSTwo Card with an separate SD-Card for separate DSTwo+ EmuNAND and the DSTwo Launcher.dat.

The whole start an setup thing takes 3 days until everything was what I wanted.
I've started DS2emunand several times, then I've started my old sky3DS (only to see if it still works, want to sell it).
After that I've started the genuine Gateway Emunand (with genuine GW card). I got a short Dragon logo and then a double white screen.
After 10 Minutes the console shut down.

That's the moment I got the vluescreen on every startup
    Code:
    Bootrom:8046
    ErrCode: 00F800EF
    FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF
    00000008 00000000
    Regards

Gateway reuses/reused some stuff as well. The entrypoint for 4.5 (MSet haxx) was avaible through 3dbrew.org for months and they used yellows8's kernel exploit.

So how can I run .3ds games on cfw?

Gateway is 3ds scene. Without them you'll still be stuck with shitty stolen yellows8 cfw.

If I remember correctly we are not allowed to host Gateway links on GBAtemp because Gateway STOLE code from Nintendo. So don't go around acting like Gateway is full of saints. Nobody is clean in the piracy business.

They arent full of saints. They are getting angry at DSTWO for stealing their software when Gateway's whole business model is aimed at stealing nintendo's software. It's really ironic if you think about it really.

i always use my red GW card to boot into emuNAND, so am i safe ?

i put the latest 3.5.1 beta on my og3ds , but still have the old 3.4 on my n3dsxl.
i use the legit GW card, bought for something about 70-90$ !

the only issue i am getting on my og3ds is an error "something error please power off your console" <<<< i get that message while i have my og3ds in sleep mode for about 2 days, it only happens after full day - 2 days (i have legit 32gig sandisk class10 sd card formatted with SDformatter in 'quick format')
and i get freeze issues on my n3dsXL using the 3.4 launcher dat(again freeze issue only if i have the console in sleep mode for a day or two and my micro sd is legit 64gig class10) , that is my only issue and i am still satisfied as long as i dont get a brick ! haha
