I know, and I'm not too bothered either because I have an a9lh N3ds anyway. I know the underlying kexploit is still there and they only stubbed svcbackdoor

This isn't as much a PSA as it is common sense. I mean, there is a REALLY good step by step guide to walk you through the process. Trying to shave maybe an hour off installation is idiotic and reckless. Nonetheless, I'm glad your system didn't brick, nobody wants that. Just gotta buy games for a little while <3

Yeah he saw my system being hacked and thought it was cool and asked if I could do it to his. Unfortunately him being 7 he hadn't bought a bigger SD card and I wanted to avoid emunand to save space. Very stupid. I literally yelled fuck at the top of my lungs when I thought I'd bricked for good

Indeed do it does. I'll just let him play ROM hacks and the like on my 3ds

Just to make sure had you tried removing the SD card after downgrading as I always just skip the emunand stuff on o3ds and the worst case for me is just the black screen on boot unless I remove the SD which is pretty much normal during the downgrade

That said it doeant really help you now, but something that may be worth considering is the hardmod downgrade method is back for 11.0 (inb4, "it never left"....yeah I know.....I dont care ;p )

i skipped the emunand step on my 2ds and 2 o3dsxl's. got partials on the xls, but they were easy to fix. and all my systems were hardmodded.

The underlying exploit is patched. You mean the VULNERABILITY is not patched.

One should never half-a** something potentially fatal to a system. Even if you think you know what your doing, just read and do everything it says. Its a good thing it wasn't completely bricked, but if you get a new system, follow every step exactly x3
