PS5 Exploit Guide

Latest OFW: 7.20 (19/04/23)
Highest PS5 OFW hackable: 4.51 (highest for Znulls new method)
Highest for Mast1c0re native code exec: 6.00 (unreleased)
Highest for Mast1c0re PS2 classics: 6.50 (relies on offsets)

First BD-J + Kernel access exploit provided by Sleirsgoevy (29/9/22)

Note: Though there are three USERLAND exploits and one KERNEL exploit, there are no public HYPERVISOR exploits available to complete the exploit chain, so there is no chance of HEN, and therefore no PS4/PS5 backup loading yet.

(Note: a hypervisor exploit is rumoured to be held in private that works on <2.50 firmware).

• 4.51 OFW for BD-JB entry point.
• 3.00/3.20/3.21/4.02/4.03/4.50/4.51 OFW for webkit entry point
• No firmware requirement for Mast1c0re PS2 classics entry point

NOTE: NEVER TURN ON IDU MODE

NOTE 2: Always stay on the lowest FW possible, if you are on 3.00-4.03 etc, don’t be tempted to update to 4.51 yet, stay as low as possible for now.

If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, this means the SNVS is corrupted (if hash check fails on boot this causes a “soft brick”).

DONT WORRY it’s not “bricked”, just reinstall your current firmwares RECOVERY PUP in safe mode!

Do you mean exploiting? Think it needs 4.50 or lower firmware.
Exploiting and any sort of ways to sysNand/emuNANd/avoid updates, all that good stuff. I don't know where the scene really is at the moment. Doesn't seem too developed.

I'd like to nab online purchases from the store while maintaining the lowest firmware possible I suppose?

Don’t setup an internet connection, you’ll be fine to avoid firmware updates, but if you want to purchase games from psn, then you will have to update to latest firmware,

There’s no Sysnand /Emunand « concept on PS5 like the Nintendo Switch

There used to be methods achieve that (e.g. ) but it looks like that was patched on psn server side (?). Latest successful attempts seem to be 1y old at this point. So I’d say patience and playing from disks that are compatible with your FW.

same thing happened with the ps4. not sure how sony could make the same sort of mistake yet again, but they did. it's patched as well. I don't know if it works with the ps5, but you can use an hdd with the same account between ps4 and 5, nab games on the ps5, then dump them on the ps4. however, in the ps5 game case, you'd need two ps5s with one being updated. I don't know if it matters that you can't play ps5 games from external or not (might have to still sign in).

All helpful information on what to do with my unit.
I'm checking the firmware version in settings. I'm getting 22.01-05.50.00.08-00.00.00.0.1

I don't know how to parse it (There's seemingly no information in the OP or online), but I assume this is version 5.50, which is outside any known vulnerabilities at present?

Bleh. Oh well. The games library I want to play is limited right now anyway so I may just roll with those via discs.
I imagine someday I can dump them to digital on a homebrewed console if I need to. I went all digital last time and ended up with a lot of headaches going from digital OFW to digital CFW

I'm by no means an expert at ps5 exploits, but there are a lot of similarities with these payloads. I think you run elf loader iso or maybe an online host works? Then deploy the dumper. It should work for your discs, but there's currently no way to play them. Saying that, the ps5 is a pretty solid system, mostly due to bc with the ps4. I had never beaten a ps4 game till the ps5, so I'm enjoying what I can.

I'm thinking very far into the future. I had a PS4 that was stock for a long time and I did all my purchases digitally. It eventually gathered dust after I exhausted the titles I wanted on it and came back to it a few years later when I found out mine was eligible. I ended up doing PS2 injects and playing some older games on it.

What bit me in the ass was my digital purchases did not migrate elegantly to CFW. However, disc dumps were incredibly easy to do (and I ended up having to buy a few more obscure titles physically to even get them back).

So my idea is buy physical now and dump much, much later when it's inevitably doable.

At present, the only title I'm incredibly interested in is Ratchet & Clank, which is a lower FW version than what I have now; so no conflicts there.

I'm not interested in exploiting the ps5, because then I wouldn't play any games. There's really no incentive if I were to pirate the games, and even more so, my saves and trophies, which I've only recently became interested in, will never be able to be synced. I want some sort of presence. Plus, I think there's a high probability of ban if you were to update to latest firmware, at least when it comes to backups or pirated games. I mean the system itself can even detect this based on the safeguards.

Not sure when if a full CFW would be release, since there is no hypervisor exploit at the moment, you can play offline for now if you don't want to update the firmware.
