If you want to play games above 4.55 firmware to 5.05 then you needs to update, if not you can stay at 4.55, then again the scene gonna move away from 4.55

On the 5.05 ps4 you can run dumper for stuff you previously purchased if you want to share them with people online, you can't share it here on the forum by the way, forum policy
