Hardware Ps4 controller issue.

My ps4 controller will not sync and charge. System less then a week old. Tried everything from the trouble shooting website. Called sony's support and still couldn't get it to work. Sony told me to return the system to gamestop. But if i do that i will loose my savr file for star ocean n i already have 50 hours i the game. What can i do? Can i at least use my phone to control the system and back up my saves to a usb drive?

Try picking up a new controller and doing that. If it works with a different controller, then you have a defective controller. If it doesn't work, then I'm not too sure

I backed up my saves on an usb before i send mine to sony. They gave me a brand new ps4. I just had to put my games back on my ps4 and copy the saves back from my usb.( i dont know if you can control the ps4 with your phone)

IIRC you can with the app, although it requires you tinkering with settings on the ps4 itself.

That sucks. I don't have another controller to change other settings in the first place.

This can be closed btw. I had to take my ps4 back to gamestop. Sony said i fryed the bluetooth chip. They sent me a 5 dollar code for the psn wallet for the trouble. Apparently they use two different bluetooth suppliers. Said one of them had sent the manufacturing plant several bad batches when the ps4 first launched. Apparently they are still shorting it out.
