Hardware PS3 SLIM Internal HDD Upgrade

My PS3 has the original120GB HDD. I have recently had it CFW modified using REBUG. I have noticed that some of the video/audio cut scenes in PS1 and 2 games skip and stutter. Would upgrading the HDD in my PS3 perhaps to a faster speed/bigger storage cure or even reduce this "stutter/skipping"....

Especially for PS2, I would bet crappy software emulation is much more likely than disk problems (especially if not fragmented)

7200rpm may help a little with seek times, but even a cheap drive will reach SATA1 speeds on sequential reads
