Hacking PS3 Phat 4.82 problems after CFW

I recently picked up a cheap Phat system with 4.82 on it. Spent all night looking at tutorials and getting everything done. I ended up going with a version that "I believe" downgraded me from 4.82 to 4.81 after installing the CFW. Everything went pretty smooth, but now I am having an issue where when I go to open rebug toolbox I get a black screen until I restart the system. Rebug 4.81.2 REX 4.82Syscon Thibobo is the one I ended up using. I don't know if maybe this older version could be a problem or not. I did quite a bit of reading on the issue and most of what I read comes back to the BD cable or drive. Before doing the softmod I had went out and bought a game to make sure everything was working. The game opened up fine when I put it in but had issues on some of the higher graphics opening sequence and froze the video at parts but you could still hear the audio. Also at the time there were a few demos on the system that would give me a black screen when I tried to open them. At this point after CFW, my disc will eject, but it will not accept me putting a disc in unless I set it in and turn on the system. At which point it does not even show up in the menu. Also, with the rebug toolbox, I had no issues installing the toolbox. It is only after installing it and trying to actually open it. I appreciate any advice anyone can give me on this. I just wanted to check with those who are more knowledgeable than myself before I go tearing it open and messing with the BD cable/drive just in case it is not necessary.

Slight change, I just tried to open rebug toolbox again and it opened right up. This is after the system being off all night. I have no idea why this could be now. Maybe a lot of dust inside causing issues?

EDIT: apparently this was a one off. Since restarting the system it will not open again. Just black screen until I turn it off. I opened up the system and blew out the 20 lbs of dust inside, but it did not seem to make a difference in being able to open the toolbox or anything else.

Final EDIT: Ive had a lot of views, and zero replies. Maybe its just the wrong time of day to get someone, or maybe my question was just stupid. I didn't give up though. I managed to completely clean out the inside of my ps3, which is a plus....minus removing the MOBO. I ended up updating to rebug 4.82.2 REX, but no change in the issue ive been having opening the toolbox. I did, however, stumble across a way to get it to load everytime. If the black screen comes up and I press the eject button on the console then it will load. I have no idea why this is working this way, and it was a pure accident that I repeated to see if it worked again and it does. For now ill continue installing everything else and see how it does. If anyone happens to come across this with any idea as to why it is like this let me know.
