Hi, I have 2 ps3 slims and I know one of them was below 3.55 and I put cfw on it, this was over 2 years ago.

Now I wanted to get back into it and play some games, when I start up the consoles they both say "The system software cannot be ran correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system."

Then one says "connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.31 or higher" and the other says "version 4.40 or higher". Now as I have said I know for a fact that one of these slims was jail broken and I kept the cfw up to date for a while.

These consoles have never been online so couldn't have updated in that way. Is it saying a fw higher than 3.55 because I updated it to cfw 4.31 for example? What can I do to proceed past this point? I do not want to update to OFW.

Edit: I would like to add I remember doing the QA toggle

Since you can't remember which console was on CFW then I would attempt to update them both using Rebug CFW.

I second what Zeonis said.
It's pretty much the only way to find out.

After that, it would be a good idea to backup the savegames to PS+ (or FTP) and backup the games to FTP (of the Rebug PS3.

Would you suggest attempt to update them with the very newest Rebug CFW or the one it's asking for? Also it looks like the HDD has been swapped around, I have 4 HDD's sitting with them so don't know which one actually went with this console does that matter?
