Hardware PS3 controller not connecting to 8bitdo USB dongle properly

Exactly what the title says. I did the part on the PC where I updated the dongle and paired it with the PS3 controller and it told me it was successful but when I try an connect it to my switch it either fails to find the controller or when it does non of the buttons work and the controller turns itself off after 30 seconds

Any idea what’s causing this or how to fix it? I don’t have a PS3 to test it on but I’ve connected the controller to my laptop and it’s registering button inputs on there :/

Hi, is there any change you found a way to fix it? I'm having the exact same issue with my adapter.

You need to plug the 8bitdo into a PC and update the firmware like on the 8bitdo website and if you can’t find it there just google 8bitdo updater, I got one a few weeks ago but I use the Xbox one controller the button switch threw me off a bit tho! I had to update it first
