The DSTWO might be able to run PS1 games in the future but will never run PS2 games sorry the DSTWO just isn't powerful enough.

The DSTWO is a dingoo. It's a dingoo that runs DS software too.

Proof-Of-Concept that it will do PS1 if someone tries:

But as for PS2,

well, don't forget the Data exchange through the DSCard. I highly doubt that its possible to run even a PSx Emulator, with such low input/output.
Dingoo doesn't have such Problems, as the CPU is on the Motherboard and not on a cheap Cartridge.

Also, I don't see what you want a PS2 emulator for. It's not like there were any good games on the PS2. HEY OH!

there is about a 50% data throughput loss from CPU to DS2 to Slot1. superfx games will probably never work, and if they do it will be without sound. i highly doubt anyone will have a working psx emu that can do more than attempt to run 1 or 2 games at a low framerate and without sound. ps2 is just dreaming.

PS1 might be doable depending on how close the DS2's CPU is to that of the PS1. Remember the first and only PS1 emulator (POPS doesn't count) the PSP ran at around 5fps. The only reason the ps1 games work on the PSP is because the PSP's CPU is compatible with the PS1 (R4000 compared to a R3000A) so that very little if any CPU emulation needs to be done. In theory, if the DS2/Dingoo's CPU is close enough that say, 90-95% of the CPU instructions could be passed through rather than emulated then it could work. Of course, this isassuming the DS2's CPU and RAM can directly access data stored on the SD card (DMA, without going through the DS at all). If no such DMA access is possible then it would probably not work even then. As for SuperFX (SNES) games, many of those could probably be made to work at decent speed if speedhacks (snesadvance.dat) were supported. N64 might be doable but only with High Level Emulation like UltraHLE did (assuming there is enough RAM) as I remember decent emulation even on a 300MHz P2.

In other words, decent PS1 and N64 emulation may be doable (assuming there is some kind of DMA so that the DSTwo's CPU/RAM can directly access the SD card) but it would be much harder than just porting another emulator over. The emulator would have to be written from scratch and have to use every trick in the book (high level emulation, virtualization, etc) and probably a few new ones to make it work.

What is this I don't even...

As I've told multiple newcomers on GBAtemp, it's just not possible, the hardware specs for the DS2 just can't fit a PS2 game! And don't tell me that ,"Anything is hackable IF YOU TRY!", Why try if it won't work?

Well, technically it could. It would be slow as hell (as in frames per hour) due to having to use the SD card as extra RAM. Kind of like that 386 emulator for some old Z80 based computer that took 10 minutes just to bring up a DOS prompt.

No way for PS2. You have to emulate multiple cores and synchronize them. No way DS nor SCDS2 can handle them.

Just go get another PS2.

My God I can't believe you would comment on this topic with that disposition. That is Epic Fail.

The Wii can barely emulate the DS!
And what does this have to do with the DS2 emulating the Wii? Anyways, just let the dang thread dieeeeeeee.
