Hardware PS Vita broken??

I was trying to do something with my PS vita, but then it said I had to format it. Me not wanting to format it, I pressed OK then took the SD Card out. Now it doesn't recognise the vita EVEN AFTER I FORMAT IT!
Should I give up all hope? What should I do??

You might need to use the cardunlock app.
