Protista is an "interactive toy" where users create creatures and battle it out for space in the Petri dish. The game is designed to engage both the left and right sides of the brain.

i didn't do much research on it but it appears to have been developed by some digipen students. it seems to be a homebrew you should take seriously.

USA, that big island near Cuba
This is quite possibly one of the most confusing games i've ever seen.

    Behind you
It has a lot of potential! Its missing some key stuff, like a better battle system and less "one off" creatures (There are some parts only usable by the template creatures) Also obviously theres no saving so the complicated experience of building your creature must be repeated everytime you play. Overall it seems like a great piece of homebrew!

On the downside these small things needed to take the game to legendary level will never happen... The games dated at 2007. D:

    Hell.
    Yeah, I got thanked! lol.
    ANYWAY, overview time!
The game is physics based, and the physics are soft-body, most people think the image used is the battle system, but it's actually the AI programming section. The makers of the game have helped to make games like Metroid, so it IS commercial quality.

Wah, this looks too hard to be a game.
