Hacking Proper way to swap SD cards

Hey all!

Have 4 SD cards with backups on them. Do you need to power down the switch to swap them? They will have the same TX os .dat on all of them but different XSI's.

yes, you need to reboot. and it's .xci

For completeness' sake, if you ever accidentally remove the SD card from the Switch while its on, just follow the steps below to fix it

Connect your sd card to a windows PC and select everything inside.
Right click, properties, advanced, disable "folder/file is ready for archiving". Done.

That'll work for your PC to not yell at you or whatever, but not the Switch, as you're only changing a windows setting.

No this fixes the error when the Switch no longer detects the files on your SD card if you remove it while its on. This has been well documented. Quoting for reference:

Switch's filesystem service has this bug since ever.

Connect your sd card to a windows PC and select everything inside.

Actually it sets a flag in the file system.
Not sure why this is even needed though? Does the Switch set/unset that flag on every boot/shutdown?
