hehe yeah should be nice displayed i'm so lazy for how that worked again..maybe its somewhere whe the need is highest i would try and search how to find back/out there

GBA save types were included in the header but this is not the case for the DS (DS headers include rom size where the GBA did not ironically). The best way for rom users/end users now (I reckon something could be done with emulation and/or disassembly eventually) is to get a DS slot flashcart and find out with that.

Well, I'm actually trying to figure it out so newer games will work on my EZ-V (it won't let me set save for some reason)
 
I figured as much. Assuming you can not just brute force a new save:
Game saves rarely change from region to region so that is a good place to look for clues.
Depending on the type of game you can sometimes guess as well, EEPROM is usually for high score tables and the like (larger eeprom for slightly larger things) whereas Flash is usually big things (wifi games and RPGs).

If you have a cart not quite so dependent you can also try and guess from the amount of padding used on a save but that is a bit harder.
