Hi,

I have a Switch running emuNAND with firmware 5.1.0. I updated it with Choix from 3.0.1. I generated the Prod Keys when on firmware 3.0.1 and it looks like it worked also for 5.1.0 (at least on 2 NSP files I installed).

Now I am considering updating the emuNAND to 8.1.0 to install other NSPs as well. Do I need to re-generate the Prod keys after the update? I've read something with firmware 6.2.0 changing the way how they are generated but I didn't understood exactly all the details ...

Thanks,
M

Figured I would bump this because I was looking for this answer as well.

As of today (8 hours ago), you are able to dump keys from emuMMC. I can't direct link, but its on the Lockpick_RCM GitHub version 1.5.0

you use newer keys in one of two ways

1 you update the firmware to a higher version that has the newer keys you need

2 you run atmosphere using fusee which will automatically use all the latest supported master keys regardless of firmware version

note that games will break if you dont update your firmware, and the games require functions from newer sdk that arent in your older firmware. regardless of whether you use fusee to bypass firmware master key requirements or not

@stanleyopar2000 contact link at the bottom of the page. As someone not an admin, but working with GDPR, what is the problem about
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
(As the GDPR mostly concerns storing personal information and it's handlingthe usual solution is deletion of the said account and all the personal data. If said person wants to get posts wiped, then (unless personal data that can be used in identification is revealed) nonissua whereas GDPR is concerned. Tough luck, what appears in the interwebz stays on the interwebz.
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Content in threads fall into what's called "collaborative creation" and there are no European copyright laws (GDPR does definitely not apply, except in circumstances above) that give someone right to ask deletion of his/hers/its earlier postings. Administrators can do that, if they are nice anough and are asked nicely enough. You cant make demands.

(Not a lawyer, but had to study copyright laws under my curriculum and have to be sure the certain
things I administer are GDPR compliant)

Or just delete your account if you don't want anymore of your data on here
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Does GBATemp have the usual "This website uses cookies" blurb popup?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
It has the do not show again option which usually works
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
You can either accept or reject cookies.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Most websites usually has cookies.
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Then really only other thing I can imagine is that "Deleted User XXXXXX" still shows the sig with personal website/gamer profile or whatever, but I'd think sigs are disabled anyway for deleted users
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Couple of ones I do run don't have the blurb, as we only run domain local cookies for keeping login data etc. (no google or whatever) and those are legal under GDPR without any extra notification.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I assume they just have whatever cloudflare has
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@lwiz, When accounts get banned, email address and everything else is still logged, but not for deleted users (except for their profile picture and banner if they have one.)
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
^this might be an issue, although keeping the details for preventing further misuse probably falls in to the fair use clauses
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Temps been around since 2002 I'm sure they know what they're doing lol
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
Yeah. Of course wherever the site is located GDPR brought in further complications concerning the personal data of EU citizens
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
An entire data wipe just for one user sounds silly on any website
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
There are people demeding silly things because they're specail snowflakes and "in the know" even if actually clueless
  • lwiz @ lwiz:
*demanding - hate the keyboard of this lappy
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Well a site owner could say they deleted everything and still keep records of it not saying this site would just that they easily could
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Plus other users quote information so they have to go in and delete every quote they made to that user as well
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
And that has what lead to data breaches, because the companies lack the ethics of keeping their security up-to-date. They fail to understand and respond to protocols whenever they're told.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Wanting just your data gone from a website doesn't have much to do with security unless two users leaked personal info admins shouldn't have to get involved
