Homebrew Problem with some cheats on AK2i...

So, I just tried using cheats directly from my AK2i to play pokémon platinum, but even when following correct directions (select + up, L + R) it doesn't work! My main guess is that I have to be slightly farther in game, OR that I need a specific program. WHAT to do?

They are, some cheats worked, but there's only one or two that doesn't

It might be the codes themselves that don't work. That's sometimes a problem for me with Platinum.

Ummm, im using the retro R4, And i have the same problems, they just dont work.
Im sure either the code is wrong, or you need to turn off the soft reset, give it a try. But ive heard this codes dont work on most, if not all cards
