Yeah, I've seen Reset buttons, and they're tiny triangle flimsy pieces of plastic.

You could glue yours it back again, or simply poke the button with a stick or something.

Alternatively, glue with carbonate is supposed to be a strong bonding mix. But to be honest I'd just use epoxy.

sorry if I didn't explain myself well but the button inside the wii motherboard has completely detached and has to be soldered, since I'm not very good at this kind of thing I wanted to know if there was some other way

Hold [Esc] on a USB keyboard on power on. (Requires Priiloader v0.9 or newer).

A picture would be nice.

Edit:
I just read through your previous thread.
Does the error also appear when no SD is inserted?

Not a good sign.
Searched a bit. The thing on your photo is old and related to the old "Preloader" – not current "Priiloader"
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Bootmii_Booter
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
The error might or might not be related to Preloader up to and including v0.29 not supporting SDHC. Try providing the BootMii files on an actual old type SD (without HC or XC), those with a maximal space of 2GB.

Else repairing the (Reset) button (or simulating a button press by shorting the points on the PCB) is probably the only way to proceed here.

SDHC are different compared to old standard SD. The software must support them. Even the official Wii software didn't support SDHC at first.
It was just a guess that a standard SD might work. I recommend formatting them with the official SD formatting tool.

Else we can only guess around further:
  • Is the SD reader dirty or defective (bent pins for example)?
  • For Micro-SD in adapter: Is the adapter faulty? Does it even work in a Wii? "Works on computer" doesn't say much
  • All files placed correctly?
  • Why doesn't the Wii continue after failing to load the BootMii file? As I understand the code, the app should just close/exit… but to returning to what?
printf("checking for bootmii files on sd ...\n"); FILE* BootmiiFile = fopen("sd:/bootmii/armboot.bin","r"); if (!BootmiiFile) { printf("Could not find sd:/bootmii/armboot.bin"); sleep(3); fclose(BootmiiFile); exit(0); }

Try sending the reset signal on power on. Somehow it must be possible to short two pins. Please show a picture of the hardware damage if possible.

So were you able to remove autoboot into that old app?

Pads are looking not too bad. Should be possible to solder in a new button… but ask somebody for help if you have no experience (or practice with scrap electronics at first).

I removed autoboot into the old app and now It work well but the Wii setting are a Little bit messed up i think a Will reset the Wii there Is any chance that the Wii can be bricked?
Nice to read this.

Please do not run "Format System Memory".
Very old versions of Preloader can indeed result in a brick with that.

Probably the best idea is updating the software mod with ModMii.
