Hacking Problem with exchanging discs.

So, I've been playing Tales of Symphonia Disc one with the Gamecube Backup Launcher v0.1 theta, and it was working perfectly. When I got the point where you need to switch, the screen just goes black (right after the cutscene ends and before any screen saying to switch discs). So, after this happened, I went and downloaded v0.2 of the launcher only to find that it fails to read the data on my gc memory card (it does say it accesses it, though). Does anyone know how to fix or both of these problems? Someone told me something about installing Waninko's cMios rather than Wiigator's, but that didn't change anything (I guess some Z button command was supposed to appear on the gc backup launcher screen).
