Hacking Problem re-hacking Wii - cannot launch CFG and Priiloader problem

I have a problem re-hacking my Wii.

My Wii was successfully softmodded and working just fine for a year or so, but all of a sudden it started to have some issues so I decide to re-hack it completely. I used ModMii, and an other tutorial that essentially does the same as ModMii (and which I used the first time round when I softmodded my Wii), and both methods are giving me the same problems.

Everything goes just fine (expect that I cannot install BootMii as Boot2, I have to do it as IOS), until I have to change the settings via Priiloader. I can launch Priiloader, but when the opening screen has appeared I cannot select anything. My controllers don't react any more - they seem not to be synchronized anymore (none of the four blue lights is on) - and the screen freezes. Navigating via the power/reset/eject buttons on the Wii itself does work either, and I don't have a GameCube controller that I can try. I have to pull the power plug to get the Wii working again. If I subsequently complete the ModMii installation process (without having changes the settings via Priiloader) I get stuck when I try to launch CFG USB launcher. When I launch it - via HBC or the proper CFG channel - I get the opening screen, the three blue-ish letters in the black screen - but then everything freezes again. Again I need to pull the power plug to get the Wii running again.

I dont think my Wii is completely bricked - it still plays discs properly. It's just that I cannot play games from my hard disk any more, because I cannot access my HDD via the CFG USB launcher any more because CFG is not working..

Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or how I can resolve my problems and get my Wii properly hacked again?

have you tried re installing your system menu and ios (ios first if you will) then priiloader?

Use Modmii to virginize your Wii, and then use it again to hack it.

Modmii is the only completely safe automated hacker. Anything else is unsafe and unsupported, ESPECIALLY if it came off of YouTube.

I solved my Priiloader problem. My HDD was still connected to my Wii. Once disconnected, Priiloader launched and I could change the settings with my controllers.

I also found out that my problems with CFG USB launcher are not because there being something wrong with my Wii or the softmod, but with the HDD. When I hooked it to my computer, it didn't show up. I tried everything - trying to allocate a new letter to it via disk management etc - but it simply isn't working, so it must have died on my. Buying a new one tomorrow.
