I bought a Pro Controller U recently, hoping to be able to use it with my emulators, but it only wants to be recognized as a wiimote. It works fine on the system menu, and in official wii games as a classic controller, but in wiiflow, or any other homebrew that I've tried, it can only be used on the wiimote setting. Not sure why, since it's basically a wiimote in controller form. Would it be possible to make it work?

It has a different extension ID than the classic controller, so the homebrew libraries don't recognize it. I'm sure they'll add support for it eventually...

while the libs will likely be updated that does not mean much
(because wii homebrew is statically linked that by itself wont fix it)
instead every single program will have to be updated too to use the new lib
so if you are hoping to use it in something that was abandoned years ago ... don't hold your breath
