£230! seriously....? we're being ripped off... 25000 yen was the price of the wii which, over here was £180. How come 25000 yen is now worth £230?????

hopefully the pre-order price is just higher than buying it after release. And i also hope the price will be reduced by xmas (or at least bundled with some stuff)

I can see the future.....

Nintendo release 3ds to much bitching about price, then wait for Sony to announce the PSP2- knowing Sony will attempt to undercut them by as little as possible (say, 10-20 *insert currency here*).
Around the day the PSP2 is release, and with no official statement, the 3ds is suddenly a mere 10 of your finest notes over the price of a DSiXL (here in the UK you are still looking at £140 in most places), thus undercutting the PSP2 by a good 40 currencies (which, apparently, are all now interchangeable).

But what's that? It's nearly Christmas? Well that's good, as all the Nintendo fanpeople who refused to fork out the full price for 3ds will be able to get one just in time!

No. It's not good. As lo and behold, and to minimal fanfare, here is the just-in-time-for-christmas 3dsX- those shoddy 3 hour battery times have been marginally improved (you can now DEFINITELY get a full 5 hours out of it!), it's a smidgen bigger, it has *insert popular GB title here- probably Super Mario Land, Link's Awakening or Tetris* built in to it, it's in a whole exciting range of colours, and it's only the same price as Sony's efforts! Come on fans of the big N, do you really want to be at work hiding in the toilet when your battery runs out? Thought not, you want the expensive one not the cheap one! You can be in that toilet so long your boss thinks you are genuinely ill and sends you home- the headaches will add to the illusion.

That's how it's gonna be, people.....

*I have returned to edit this, as I forgot to say.....*
In my opinion the DSiXL is the real rip-off- why are you penalising me for having big hands?!

If Nintendo hadn't region locked the systems thanks to rife DS piracy, I'd be pre-ording a Japanese unit right now.
No. They locked it due to different regions having different customs.
"Spastic" doesn't insult you if I say it to you in America, but it will in the UK.

Region locking a console would have ZERO effect on piracy in any form what so ever.
If anything piracy is encouraged by region locks.

Wot? What does spastic mean in the US?

I am guess it means the same thing as that which you are referring to here in AU....

I was making a reference to big brain academy.
Spastic was taken out of the UK release because it refers to a mental illness.
Americans don't know what mental illnesses are, they just think it means fast and sporadic fun.

They are crazy for this price: 249,99 € (2,5x the price of a wii??)
Better pay 50 euros more for a ps3'. Instead of buying a mini 'gameboy', with 50 euros more I have a big console
ohmy.gif

Take the price back to 150€ and that would be a lot better..
What, mini 'gameboy'? This thing is way beyond a game boy, this thing got some much stuff pack into it. Pssss mini 'gameboy' you must be talking about the gameboy micro...

Can't really talk about price, because of €, do not fell like converting.

Yes, but ps3 also a old console...

That one comment on it own just give me a small headache, 3DS a mini 'gameboy' really? really?

I read crazy comments, but that like the worst comment I every read, sense I first heard about the 3DS...

I am talking about the size for mini because the 3ds isn't that big. And yeah I don't really care what you think about it, since everyone looks different into things
wink.gif

From my eyes, I better spend 50 euros more to buy a ps3 that I can play from my tv with full hd quality instead of a 3ds ( you probably prefer 3ds).
It is like, why buy a small thing, if I can buy with 50 euros more a bigger thing. (of course big does not mean better, but I do think that the quality of the ps3 is in anyway better than a 3ds. Graphics, blue ray player, but you probably think that the 3ds is somehow a lot better.)
Ps3 an old console? Sorry, but it still owns the 3ds.

Anyway, like I said. Peace. Everyone thinks different about things, so lets keep it to ourselves.
It funny how I never said the 3DS was better then ps3. 3DS is great as portable to ps3 as console. I was saying ps3 was old, meaning the price went down. You can not compare the ps3 price to 3DS when ps3 was much higher that all I'm saying.

Edit: Plus why didn't just small handheld over saying mini 'gameboy'?

So gamestop is now allowing you to trade in a DSiXL and get 100 dollars off.

Looks like this is going to be the first handheld I'm actually getting at launch.

That sounds cool! Too bad, I do not think that is possible here in amsterdam.

I see you're a fellow dutchie

There is a store in Tilburg (quiet some travel from Amsterdam but may be worth) that trades in your DSL/DSi/DSiXL if you buy a 3DS. They will review your machine and you can get a maximum of DSL:50 EUR, DSi: 75 EUR and DSIXL: 100 EUR, depending on the state of the machine.

Oh, and here is the link

From what I've read the price here will be about 428.5 US$

Not fair if it costs 249,99 in US.

good news for uk: found a pre-order 3ds for £199.85 which equates to $318.24 . I know, that's still a lot more (£42.86) than us price but it's getting there. remember this is still pre-order price so actual price should hopefully drop again.
old-news.
gamegears are cheaper again, but ran out of stock.
I can't imagine shopto fulfilling every order.
They've not once rejected a pre-order and they had a lower price for a week or two.
