Hardware Price

$250 is not a bad price.
I'll be able to afford it. I hope that Canadian retailers recognize that the Canadian dollar is a parity with the US dollar. Most of the time, Canadian prices are about $10 higher. I also wish I didn't live in Ontario. We have a 13% tax here. The 3DS will cost about $280 here after taxes.
Edit: Just checked. Looks like the 3DS's price in Canada is on par with the 3DS's price in the US. GameStop Canada has it listed for $249!

I know this is bad but the only way ill get one is if its hacked.

Here in the UK a 3DS and a couple of games is well over £300! I paid about that for my 360 on launch day.

I paid £60 for my 360 and over a dozen games. But to be fair it was off my dad and he was exactly £60 short of getting the new slim model for himself, so it all worked out fine.

You have a valid point though. My sworn intent was to buy the console and a few decent launch titles without trading anything in, as a mark of me moving up in the world (IE: finally having a job that pays more than the dole) and using just my hard earned wages for a major purchase. It's still possible, but in order to accomplish it with the number of games I had in mind I basically can't spend more than about £20 of my next wage slip at the end of February. I don't mind saving money but for fuck sake. If they'd have kept the price reasonable at between £170-£200, I wouldn't have such an issue. But that price hike means I've got to save extra to avoid dipping in to the game budget now. LAAAAAAAME.

And for the record, going on for a good ten minutes about how awesome your program Shaun The Sheep is in 3D while we wait for some real news? Not cool. Especially when the important news never actually arrives.

I wonder what nintendo's sales prediction for this is... Cuz they might be a bit dissappointed on launch day, at least in other countries besides most of U.S. [I don't have a job and can still afford it with money left to burn]

I don't think it's gonna be like the famous Playstation Move Midnight Launch photo if that's what you're worried about.

Well, only another £219.99 to go for me since I have my deposit down already. And with £100 of that already put aside, I shouldn't have much trouble.

Wow, the same price as the release for the PSP...

I find this reasonable.

Sucks for European gamers though.

I'm in B.C., and I can't remember if the HST is across Canada, but god dammit that thing adds a butt load of dollars to the price tag. I mean, when I bought my PSP last February from EB Games, the price tag was $190.00. The total with just the PSP alone, was $210.00.

So if the 3DS is $250.00, if I did my math on this calculator right (which I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't), 249.99 * 1.14 = $284.98.

20 more bucks and I can grab myself a PS3.

if they don't reach the expected sale number, at least enough 3ds will remain for those who still want it
if they reach it, then it's good anyway

so either way, they are going to be happy

I swear, the next person to remind me that they live in a country where they're not getting ripped off will be eating hobo pube soup. Seriously. I get it. You get the good deal. STFU.

Why does Nintendo hate Europe, anyway? Surely in what is supposed to be a civilised society there shouldn't be quite so many barriers between us with something as simple as entertainment?

I know this does not mean much to you guys but, It would be instant buy for me if it was 250$ around here.
Considering DSi is still over 320$ I don't expect 3DS to be less than 450.

Answered my question.

There other things I can get for $250 that why I'm concern/wondering, not saying the price is bad...

One soup, coming up.

I know the US gets the best deal. I hate how unfair Nintendo's being towards UK/EU gamers such as myself. We're getting arse raped by the price for no good reason. We're paying more than you guys, will our 3DS' be better in some manner? Will they fuck. In fact if the US/UK launch lineups are to be believed, the UK gets shafted on every possible level. We don't get Pilotwings or Steel Diver, you guys get both. It's a fucking conspiracy I says.

British Columbia has a HST (harmonized sales tax) tax, too. In Ontario, the tax is 13%. In British Columbia, the tax is 12%. In British Columbia, the 3DS will cost exactly $280 after taxes (250 * 0.12). In Ontario, the 3DS will cost $282.5 (250 * 0.13).

It's still to fucking much. $280.00 is WAY too much for a Handheld. And if I recall, the PSP was cheaper because we didn't have the HST back then, and that console still didn't sell that great back then. How the hell does Nintendo expect to survive?

Not bad, I set my mind for 300$. So knowing that I'm only gonna' end up paying max 270$, plus my girlfriend and I are going halfsies on it 'cause I sold my DS Lite during the summer to help her buy some stuff she needed, so yeah.

Sweet deal.

I'll wait till'

1. Kingdom Hearts comes out, this is the only thing I will play on this besides maybe Professor Layton v. Phoenix Wright.

2. The prices goes down to 200 or lower...

3. It has a smaller revision(maybe).

4. I feel an extreme need for one.
