I totally agree with that.
Again, this is not intended for any other purpose than inviting people to commit good deeds. It's not about homebrew development. It's not about what the people can contribute to the scene. I'm giving these out as gifts and rewards for decency.

If you would like to nominate a coder or programmer or homebrew dev, by all means, this is the place to do so.

I am going to purchase at least one, and as many as three, copies of Cubic Ninja this evening.

Because I know that people on the internet are already hoarding copies, planning on profiting directly from smealum's work, without contributing anything to the scene, and by using his exploit for all the wrong reasons, I have decided to counterbalance that despicable behavior by doing something better.

Later this evening, when I am holding the actual games, I will post a photo of them, along with an invitation for anyone who wants the game to show us a random act of kindness from one gamer to another. Not a story that's already online; I want to incentivize people to DO something kind for someone else.

Show me your kindness, and I will send you Cubic Ninja for free.

Since I will obviously have a very, very limited quantity of these (three, to be exact), I will ask the members of the GBATemp community to decide whose act of kindness was the most awesome, and you guys get to decide the "winners".

I'll give it until the very day that the exploit is made publicly available. Then we will decide whose act of kindness was the most awesome.

Deal?

EDIT - After contacting all of my local GameStops, I have a total of three copies reserved, which I will be picking up this evening. You should expect proof to be posted here no later than 9PM, EST (GMT-5).

Aw, this is nice. ^_^

Scalping is indeed wrong but people with no integrity try to get as much money of it as possible even if no one ever buys it from him/her.

Generally people who do good deeds for others will not talk about it. I know your intention is good. But, why not sell them better and help someone in your community?

Then we have no idea if they're not going to just be swept up by scalpers.

I'm keeping an eye out for people that need a game and if they can tell me something I'll reference them to this thread. (Or in this thread)

The point is for someone to see this post, decide, "I can be awesome", then to go out and DO something. I know most people wouldn't brag about a good deed, but, this time, I am directly asking for just that. Go do something wonderful for someone, then tell us about it.

I'd nominate Kazo for a copy. If anything, he might make a pretty good use of it for some homebrew-related stuff (offline, no-subscription-fee PokeBank? :DDDD)

Edit: Had I read Smea's twitter more carefully last night and got a better picture of how the exploit will work, I would have hoarded a few more copies (at $3-5 each) and maybe hand them out to established homebrew devs later on. Damn hindsight is always 20/20, eh?

Kazo Seconded

ugh, stupid themes, still trying to build a working .cia file here, but Its getting late... I think I may have formated my sysNAND at some point some day after setting up my first emuNAND, so that may be the reason, why my xorpads turn out to be faulty and why nothing is working here XD
currently rebuilding emuNAND from scratch and then I'll see, if there is any difference :/
btw, I still haven't gotten any requests at all about those 10 themes, so if nobody has any wishes, I will just pick some, that I think would be nice to have

Wrong thread? Seems a bit out of place. XD

If I got one I would give it to a friend of mine who cannot afford to buy a copy due to the inflated prices. I do not need the game for myself since I already have one on the way.

A few individuals are getting fannyharmed over my strong opposition to profiting from flipping hoarded copies of Cubic Ninja.

I am doing this because GBATemp users have done a lot for me, and are mostly responsible for at least half of my modding knowledge.

I genuinely want to help other people and try to cut some of the profiteers out of this new exploit. No one should profit from work they did not do.

I regret nothing I've said or done.
