as I say their is no problem when selecting Bootmii IOS from the Preloader menu...

Do you have a bootmii.ini on your sd card? It's definitely down to bootmii booting the systems menu (i.e. preloader) which is causing the loop. Check your sd card and place a # in front of AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU in your bootmii.ini in the bootmii folder before you make yourself dizzy

that doesn't solve the problem..

thats just allows bootmii to autoboot to the system menu, in your case stop bootmii autoboot with the #... so when you select system menu in boot mii.. back into the loop again..

again as I say there is not problem's booting Bootmii from the preloader menu.. only via the preloaders autoboot settings...

Possible fix, set the autoboot setting to load preloader first, then auto switch to load boot mii IOS.. (as if it was automatically selecting Boot mii IOS from the preloader menu, once preloader is started)

No need to update to 4.1 because it wouldn't achieve anything else for me, and I refuse to support Nintendo's efforts in killing homebrew by updating to 4.2, whether they would know I did it or not isn't my point....It's the principle of it all

Plus, I like having the option to re-downgrade FW again if I would lie to do so ever or in case the need ever arises because of another update from the big N....happens with PSP FW all the time where if you've updated past 'this point' you can't re-softmod again until the new update.....just like 4.2 was for a bit there

Okay, so at first, I couldn't install due to the "Root ok/can't read ticket abort" issue. Fixed that by installing .29 JODI, then .30.

So went to let it read the hacks.ini file off of my 4GB (FAT32) SDHC card. "Couldn't find 'hacks.ini' neither on FAT nor on NAND". I also tried this with a 1GB (FAT) MicroSD card, same issue.

Any ideas?

I had it, installed 0.29 and then 0.30 to solve it. This is what possibly needs to get solved by phpgeek.

No, I can't say I have seen it. I assume this means I've got to use 4.1 or 4.2 updater to make it happen, then? Also, I would assume a preloader reinstall is necessary afterward? can I downgrade again if I would like after updating to 4.1? I've heard 4.2 stops downgrade altogether....

1. yes just grab the 4.0 system menu instead.
2. yes installing the system menu removes preloader

Semi-Success, I just got a 512MB micro SD to work in preloader0.30r3. i took it out of my old motorola slivr, did the regular format to fat32 (not quick format). it works i got the Hacks.ini running, Yay! So i then tried the reg formatting on the 4GB SDHC (took about 10 min.), but it did not have the same result.
Still incompatible, i can live with this minor success.

oh yeah the reason it's a success is because, when i tried the quick format the card did not work. after the full format it did.

make sure u use the correct .app file for 4.1 to create your csm file from the darkwii mym using mymenu before installing it on the wii using mymenuify
