Hacking Preloader v0.29 - JODI Patched

It's so much faster to:

1) Back up everything with BootMii
2) Reinstall Preloader over existing version
3) ENJOY!

Seems to work just fine for everyone who has posted thus far! Just my 2 cents.

same here on 4.0E and just put hacks.ini on root and installed over the top didn't even do a nand backup and no problems all my hacks were all set aswell

I hope so, I wanna know what the right steps to take are.

I'm not sure but I think the steps are:
1. Dl your system menu and IOS60 wad from NUSD
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/NUSD
2. Install system menu wad
3. Install IOS60 wad
4. Use Truncha Bug Restorer
5. Install this new preloader

Questions:
1. How do I do step 1?
2. Is step 4 necessary?
3. Is there any other way to do this than reinstalling the system menu?
4. Is this new preloader safe for system menu 4.0?
5. Does the new HBC screw up Bootmii booting to HBC also? YES

I tried installing the systemmenu.wad downloaded using nusd
and try'd installing it using wad manager 1.4 all it did was gave me an error

and was unable to boot wii again

luckly preloader was still working so was able to restore using Bootmii ISO version as I was unable to create a BOOT2 version

I used dop ios to take care of ios36 and installed the ios70freethebug wad from the guide and i still get the 4.2usa message in the corner on a black screen and yes preloader is set to use ios70


EDIT: i figured out what it was.For some reason the hack to boot to recovery mode was set to enabled by default for me and thats what was causing the 4.2USA on a black screen.

I just reinstalled preloader as well with no issues.... Couldnt be bothered with all that SM stuff. Also done the same with HBC and Bootmii (AS IOS)

I recently used the contents in the first link of this guide to get the preloader to startup to HBC.
Is it normal for it to load to HBC and not be able to get to the system menu?

Currently i have to hold reset and press power to return to the preloader .29, then change the settings so that i can see the system menu.

I would like to load HBC at startup then have the option to return to the system menu more easy.

Is there a way to do this?

Have you tried taking a look at the settings?

doesnt work here
it runs like preloader (but not the installer)
except white background not black
system menu wont boot (ios 36 fake signed error)
hbc wont boot (title not installed error)
and settings wont save

he's probably not fixed the title id for the homebrew channel

Ok..this is for me a No-Go. It can't boot the HBC and the Systemmenu, and can't save the Settings...the JODI patched 0.29 was way better, and worked at least...stay away from this!!! I repeat: Stay away from this!!!

did you insert the certs.bin in the data folder before compiling??? like it says in the NFO file????
