Hi all,

I'm new to the 3DS scene, but not new to console modding, etc.
I have a New 3DS. (the Pokemon 20th anniversary edition one)

I just want to get a feel for how much space is sufficient/practical for a Micro SD card in my N3DS.
I have a 128GB, 64GB, and 16GB Micro SD card.
I also have a Sky3DS+, so that will need one of the SD card, too.

I know "more is always better", but I also hear about the 300 game limits, etc. So what's a practical size that I'll need? It would feel wasteful if I use the 128GB and end up only able to use like 50GB.

Thanks!

in your place, I would place the 128 in the sky(IDK if it would work) and the 64 in the console. I dont think theres a need for more then that for just CIA games, since they weight less then 3DS ones (most of the time)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

but I still use 32 and its enough, 'cause I delete games after completion (with exception of pokemon and other multiplayer non- boring games)

It depends on how many games you plan on playing i have a 32gb card and roundabout 120 games on it which is way more than I need lol but if something new comes out I just delete some games I am finished with and put the new game on

This is what I'm concerned about. haha

Are you using the SD card to install full retail Cart games as well? I don't think I'll be using it for Cart games at all since I have a Sky3DS+ for that.
Do you think if I don't use it for full cart games, it will still be enough?

Yeah, of course. If you're only downloading eShop content, the 16gb is just fine.

Oh that's a great idea! I didn't think of making a duplicate copy if I ever need more space.

It looks like 64GB is the winner. Thank you all for your input!

It all depends how much of a collector you are, some users like to keep a collection of games they like. I personally switched to 128 GB, since I'm a 3DS enthusiast who likes having as much as possible on one system.
