There seems to be some troubles with the GLES2 ver, supposedly in certain games.
Will look into that over the days, use the GL ver if the GLES2 build has issues.

gran turismo still 5 fps in menus. hopefully that gets fixed someday. Other than that I can play pes better now. So i'm happy.

This emulator is top notch. Upscaling and texture filtering works like magic and performance ir very impressive.

But I can't get sprite based 2D games to look crisp. Have played a ton with the settings but sprites and 2D elements always look a bit garbled.
I've noticed in layout editor that 4x zoom fits the screen even in portablke mode, when it should be 3x if my math is right. Maybe that's what's causing the issue with sprites?

I am fairly certain that the image gets rendered at 4x resolution, and then downsampled to the Switch resolution, so that it fits the screen :)

Yeah, that's what I think as well. Since the downsampling doesn't map to an integer scale the sprites look wrong, that's my guess. I find odd that I don't see this complaint around more often if that's the case. Most of the time I find the reverse, people thinking that the original resolution sucks trying to upscale it, which is fairly simple to do and yields great results.

Yeah I mean there are ppl complaining about it, as seen here:
Hi, how can I use 720P as native resolution? I just noticed that the standalone version outputs at 1080P.
I use handheld at most of time, plus I also wanted to use nearest filtering with manual integer scaling layout (like retroarch) to prevent pixels got weirdly stretched. I just like the pixel-to-pixel experience.

But to be honest, I never understood what this is all about. I do use PPSSPP for quite a while, but never saw problems like these. Maybe it's just visible for some folks, like screen tearing back in the day. Some do not notice it at all, and others find it very annoying :rofl2:. Could you give an example of some games with these problems?
Edit: - or send some pictures?

it works fine, hold r and launch any nsp game you have - it will open an hbmenu. from there, choose ppsspp (gl) and it will run
