This is so cool. I never expected someone to work on the PSP to be emulated on the Wii U.
I tried Street Fighter 3 when I press ZL during game it crashes.

i highly doubt that, since you can read and write files using ftp, ppsspp should have the same rights and therefore can read files off the hdd. a work around could be using savefile folder as iso folder since every game can read and write from that folder, provided we use a ppsspp channel and not .ELF
this would be very ueful since most people have empty HDD space.

Or people can wait for it to be implemented and not rush the developer, hmm??

this has not been implemented in retroarch. so why should i expect it to be implemented here? at least if i make the suggestion the dev could consider implementing it.

USB implementation for Wii U homebrew isn't as cut and dry as it was for the Wii U. Be patient. Let the dev do his work and let's not swamp him with requests.

Yeah, this thread is for helping the developer (if he reads gbatemp) on ironing issues, not for drowning him in requests

Not to mention that, if the port is based on the Android version I doubt it would be so easy to load games from USB (Android is mainly SD based)

Keep it low for now, don't make ploggy regret releasing the build

By the way this has been in development for quite some time it seems, since it's based on the 1.54 version of ppsspp (right now is at the 1.61 versión)

I should point out I didn't release the build, aliaspider did.. I just posted the link ;)

Then let's not make aliaspider regret releasing it ^^U

People are asking me on youtube to give them a download link, but i'm wary since people can be very bitchy and expect the emulator to work perfectly on the spot. Dunno what to do. On one side, it would mean more people testing, but in the other it could backfire expectacularly given the state of the port.

I would keep it as contained as possible for now. We got a nice little test group setup here, I say let the guy work in peace :)

I was right then. I published it on my blog on my initial euphoria, but thankfully my blog isn't exactly populated (the most popular article is the one about loading DS games on 3DS via ndsbootstrap, and even then that one only gives me about 5 hits a day) so the news hasn't spread yet.

Firmware: E 5.52
SD type and Class: SDHC Class 10
Homebrew launcher version: 1.4 Forwarder on Homescreen
Game: Final Fantasy 7 Crysis Core
Non default settings: Framskipping 1, Game crashes without any Texture Filtering on. Set Texture Filtering to 2x instead of 16x for possible Performence Boost.
Issues observed: Video Audio a lil shoppy. Running between 80-100% Speed. Graphical Elements missing, Missing Spell Effects but actually playable fairly well if you look over those.

So yea the PSP Gem isn't working just yet : ) Gotta give it some time.

Oh yeah, i have just one doubt. Is Aliaspider aiming for a standalone release or this is just for the Retroarch core?

I mean, i'll take whatever alias give us since i love the PSP library, but i really love PPSSPP as a standalone emulator.

According to another Dev this is a standalone port and not part of Retroarch.
I'm fine with that. To be able to play PSP on WiiU in any form is amazing. :)

Although with PPSSPP's own Gui it's nice to just tap on the WiiU Gamepad to select your game/mess with settings :P

Then it's all perfect

The touch interface it's the first thing i noticed, it really makes you want to play on the Gamepad wich, given it only runs on native resolution (for now) it's just perfect

This really is the surprise of the year

And yeah, given that it is a standalone emulator better keep it in this thread. Care if i quote this in the Retroarch thread? Just to completely stop discussion there.

I already directed people to come here If they want to discuss PPSSPP and mentioned the standalone part ;)
