Hi, i just upload a new version (2.1) with some minor fixes for the http browser/streaming part:
  • player: hide loading message and report error... on file loading error
  • player: fix http browsing of folders with the ' special characters
  • player: fix http loading of files with special characters
  • player: speedup http browsing

FTP movie loading is much faster, almost instantly. With external subtitle support while streaming it would be the cherry op the top of the cake :D Love it more and more each day

I can browse my FTP server but they all give me "error... could not load file". Anything obviously wrong that I did? My FTP server is the ASUS router firmware. Maybe it lacks certain support?

My switch seems to freeze everytime I quit using the menu on the left, the first time it simply crashed, no idea what could cause it, willing to do a few tests to help solve this problem

I just noticed this problem, it happens if you quit without stopping playback first. I'll take a look later.

Yeah, stopping the playback lets me quit it without a freeze. I always only paused before quitting, glad you found the problem.

First of all thanks for this awesome app i use it a lot when my gf comes around to my place :D.
Now i have a question. I come from Slovenia where we use special characters in subs such as ž,š,č is it possible to display them?

Hi,

You can probably replace the font here: "/switch/pplay/mpv/subfont.ttf" or even better put your fonts in "/switch/pplay/mpv/fonts/" (untested). You can take a look here: https://mpv.io/manual/master/#files
Note that "fonts.conf" is not used as fontconfig is not available on the switch.

Thank you so much for responding, will try that :D

This might has been answered early but is there any pause button feature? The simple "ReadMe.MD" doesnt state any

Hi, good job on that player I really like it.

However I am getting weird audio glitches with some videos. A kind of high pitched buzzing. Like when you where switching channels on old car radios.
It is very annyoing and makes those videos unwatchable.
It happens with 24kHz as well as 48kHz AAC.
