Gaming Power Pro Kun Pocket 9 - Help w/ Controls?

I understand batting, pitching and fielding... but need assistance w/ baserunning/stealing. Couldn't find a FAQ on gamefaq's or via google... any assistance would be great, as this is the best DS baseball game available. Also menu translations would be nice too so I know what options I can set, or how to play a season, without messing up a save. Here's what I know.

Batting:
d-pad - aim
b - swing
a - bunt
x - (i think this may be to do with stealing bases, but not fully sure how to control, or retreat)
y - (i think it's just to taunt... i haven't seen what else it does)
l - ? (changes batting crosshairs...is it for power hitting?)
r - ?

Base Running:
(please fill me in here)

Pitching:
d-pad - pitch type - up-change up; side-curve ball; down-fast ball
b - select/start pitch
(during wind-up) d-pad - move target
a - pick off 1st base
x - pick off 2nd base
y - pick off 3rd base
l - select infield position
r - select outfield position

fielding:
w/o ball
b - jump/dive
w/ ball
b - throw home plate
a - throw 1st base
x - throw 2nd base
y - throw 3rd base

so yeah... if any one can clue me in on the base stealing (while at bat) and the base running (while ball is in play) controls... that'd be great... cause even after a full game i'm still slightly confused with these parts of the game. also any menu translations would be a great help too. hope mlb power pros (this series, but with 2k's mlb license) comes to the DS and not just the Wii and PS2.

well... it's now my project to create an FAQ for this game to post here and on gamefaqs.com. my brother knows japanese, so next time he visits i'll have his assistance to translate menus. this really is the best baseball game on the DS, i love it.

it's #743. i've figured out base running now...

x + d-pad : steal base (point to base you want to go to)
a + d-pad : retreat (point to base returning to)

also while batting l or r, i believe does enable power hitting

figured out some in game menus, got pitcher change down (in pause menu it's second option on left). but i still hope to get my brother to translate more for me, to ensure when I play pennant (season) mode that i know how to save and load my progress.
