My friend told me to never have my 3ds shut off or whatever while it's saving but it's been stuck on the "Saving data and closing software..." for a while now. My friend said it could break my 3ds but it's stuck for a while and I don't think it will ever finish.

Force shut it down

He is generally speaking right. If the 3DS hangs there will however be no other way than switch it off hard, if "a while" is more than some minutes.

It's been stuck for like 50 minutes, so I'll force shut it down
