Whats the status on real nand code support? Why was it removed?

Real nand cheats was available again starting from version 3.69.3. Just select a boot method different from "Compatible mode"

------------------------------------

postLoader 3.69.7

* new wbfs scan function: wbfs file are no more opened and header readed, just name of file/dir is used.
* case sensitivity on ntfs is now used

Hi stfour, I know it's been bug fix time, but just wanted to nudge ya that I would still love to be able to have my mp3's in the background play randomly ;), great work on PL3, haven't had any problems for what I've been using it for thus far. Thanks,

WooHoo!!! Ok and one more request if possible, I do a lot of testing with Wiiflow and I use priibooter GUI to auto-boot it but now they're using Dollz3 compressed dols and it seems I can't launch the dols, does PL3 launch dollz3 compressed apps? If not could u add that capability?

So.......is it possible to be able to transfer GC games to USB from SD? Instead of USB to SD? The reason I ask is because I have some of my GC games backed up on my laptop. My laptop haas seen better days and no longer has USB ports but it does have an sd reader. I can put games on SD but not usb anymore. And because of the 4k cluster size wiixplorer does not work. Probably not possible but my mother always said "You never know until you ask."

buy yourself another sd card. They are not that expensive.
Asking for features that only will benefit you and maybe a very small amount of others shows the impression you don't realise how much time and effort it takes to add features.
You could buy a cheap usb hub as well if you run out of usb ports. (or are they really all broken?)
Another option is copiing the files over with wiixplorer while you are running on real nand instead of neek environment. It just need to be done once, it's no big deal.
You can also set up an smb share on your laptop and copy the files over with wiixplorer accessing that share.
There are plenty of solutions that don't require a programmers hard work.
I can't speak for stfour. Maybe he's looking for a coding challenge and happy to accept the request.

I have an SD card....I have no USB ports.....wasn't a big deal, my appologize, also wiixplorer does not work for me because of my HDD, it is 3tb with 4kb cluster size. Unlike some people I can't afford multiple HDD. It is entirely my fault for not researching the HDD first...but I didn't. Again my appologize, forget I said anything, I won't bother anyone anymore.

Don't take it personally. (I am always like that in the morning.) It's just a fact people don't realise how much work it is to create a feature.

Your solution is either a wiixplorer compiled with the newest libfat supporting 4K sectors.
(Wich would benefit all people having such harddisks)
or getting your portable repaired.

It's not a 4Kb cluster size, it's a 4Kb sector size.....The first can be changed by repartitionning, the second can't.

Yes, I think that is the best solution. Anyway it sound me strange that wiixplorer doesn't support 4k sectors...

Gartmius, although should be implementable, I don't think I will add an sd to usb game copy options... I don't think it will be used by anyone but you.

Instead you should tell me how much time your hdd take before init ;)

It doesn't init stfour, postloader loads then I have to load USBLoaderGX then exit back into postloader before my HDD is recognized by postloader. So it seems that GX actually initializes it for me.

Is it actually possible to compile Wiixplorer to support 4kb sector size? If so I have no idea where to even begin for that.

Right now as it stands with my HDD plugged in, wiixplorer stack dumps...if I unplug the HDD and try again it loads the SD card just fine....so it must be the sector size.

You added support for a 4K sector size in postloader. Could you give a brief description what is needed for that?
Besides compiling against the latest revisions of ligogc and libfat (others maybe as well), did you had to make changes to your sources for it?
Is it possible to give the needed revisions of those lib's, and eventually the place where to find them, if that isn't asked too much?
I think the official wiixplorer is still rev. 212. it's from january 2011, so it probably doesn't support 4K sectors.

I was just considering to clean up my neek2o compatible version of it. I might as well compile it against the latest libraries.
I don't have a harddisk big enough to test things out.

I do not nothing. Just build with the latest libogc. But I'm quite sure that also previous version was supporting 4k. The problem that caused code dump on postloader was just that when you read the mbr for mounting partition different from fat, on 4k disk the sector buffer must be 4096 bytes (and befor the fix it was 512). The "readSectors" has no options to specify passed buffer size, so you must provide enough space ;)

I just checked the old wiixplorer sources, and the buffer there is still 512 bytes. It's in PartitionHandle.h
This could explain the exception.

Alright I must have done something quite wrong here, which might help diagnose early problems. I checked today and noticed (while I was trying to get a uneek setup working) that for whatever reason postLoader was autobooting to version 3.4.7.0 (or some old version like that) upon start up. Well when I realized this was out of date I tried to update everything so that priiloader would autoboot to the latest version. Here's where things went wrong.

I copied priibootergui to the root of my usb drive and installed into priiloader, no problems there, but then when I tried to autoboot to postLoader3 it said something like "Warning: postloader couldn't be found on SD/USB" So then I tried straight loading postLoader from HBC and it loaded but then said that no config file could be found and forced me to reboot. So then I decided to plug in my SD card and well things changed, postLoader would autoboot, but it asked me to create a config file on the SD card and all that. This isn't right though, I had all my settings already configured and a nice theme and everything already set up on my USB drive. What am I doing wrong here that postLoader suddenly will not work.

Also for my sake since I've got postLoader on both my USB and SD card what files should I have on my USB drvie and where, and do I even need an SD card (I hope not because I try to use it as little as possible) and if so what should be on there and where.

Last thing to add is that previously I think prilloader was booting a copy of PL stored on the root of my USB drive even though I had PL in the apps/postLoader/ folder.

I appreciate your help and thank you for such a wonderful app.

The way you describe it, it's almost like neither priibootergui or postloader are able to access the usb drive.
So, with the sd card inserted, postloader is running, but probably from sd card.
Can you see the homebrew applications in your usb apps folder?

When I launch the homebrew channel yes I can, but not in postLoader. Well actually I managed to change the setting use cios 249 to yes and that will let me see the drive, but not any of the homebrew on it. Also, under this PL as is it won't even show any of the channels on my real nand and now for the real kicker, if I browse to the Wii games it will show me all the Wii games I have stored in a wbfs folder on my NTFS partition.

@[member='DaFees'], you should send me the debug log. Create an empty file sd:/ploader.log and then execute postloader. Attach the log to a pm.
