Update: I'm back. Once again, it's the same problem as last time. When I go to do my first search, everything works as it should

Search 1:
cR1bhXm.png

However when I go to start my second one I get indefinitely locked into this screen

Search 2:
GM42vmj.png

At this point, the program freezes and starts doing shenanigans (such as hiding and reopening the window, changing to the Java logo, etc.)

Is there anything I'm doing wrong, or am I just out of luck?

How long did you wait? It shouldn't permanently lock up but maybe take a bit to do the planning of the next search. Why do you even search for 0? It's the most common value. That won't really get you anywhere. Use some less common search value if possible.

I just tried doing your search and it was planning for like 20 seconds and continued. That's fine, have some more patience.

For mine I usually wind up waiting for about a minute before the tab auto-hides.

I wasn't aware of what the value was for. I am following tutorials for this, and they only changed the search range. How do the values work? I figured that they served the same purpose as the ranges.

What game did you use? If it wasn't Smash then it may act up, but you created this, so you'd know more about the intricacies.
Also, did you keep the values at 0, or did you change them (and to what?)

Edit: I'm also loading up Smash with Mocha, if that matters.

After about 20 Minutes I was able to view the interface again
9lzRpYH.png

However it's still "Planning", and the search will neither continue nor cancel. I can mess around with the interface, but it's essentially still frozen.

In other words, it still isn't working.

EDIT: Am I using the correct range/values for this game? If not, can somebody give me the proper ones? This is for Smash 4 NTSC-U btw.

@skoolzout1 Can you tell me what you did when you were searching this? You made some progress earlier, I just need to know what ranges/values you were using. Remember you said that you managed to swap the 8-Player and Special-Smash menus (which is further than I got). Once I know your process I can take over from there/

Code for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U V1.1.7
Stage Modifier
00000000 1098EE41
000000XX 00000000

XX = Stage/Cosmetic ID
http://sm4sh-hacking-research.wikia.com/wiki/Stage_IDs
Take the ID from the Cosmetic Column, transfer them into hexadecimal and replace them with XX in the code
Select any stage and you should play on the stage entered in your code.

All of the menu selection options are within the range of 10700000 to 10A00000 that will narrow your search down immensely. However there are things way beyond this range related to other stuff.

Some Character related stats and data is stored between 13000000 and 14800000 and move data can be anywhere between like 15000000 to 22000000 from what I remember.

If you’re just trying to recreate what I did, then the area of 10700000 to 10A00000 is pretty much the main area to search.

If you want, I could give you addresses and codes I’ve made regarding this stuff.

Finally found it. For those of you looking for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze cheats and don't want to go through 440 pages

If this is for me, I need a With Friends / 1v1 For Glory swap code. If this is just a general code, thanks anyways.

I'll use the values you gave me, thank you.

And yes, I'd appreciate the codes, thanks!

Update: I'm making progress, now I poke. Wish me luck!

Thanks man. I've made more progress than ever thus far. I'll post back if I can get it working before then.

Update: I found the value for FG 1v1 (107FA2D4). I can tell this is it because whenever I try poking I get a game crash. What am I doing wrong? I usually do a double compare search, and my results end up as 00000000 / 134F4A00, which crashes the game. I am so close, I just wish I knew what was wrong.

Update 2: Nevermind; Random crashes.

Update 3: 107FA2D4 / 134F4A00 seems like it's correct, but whenever I poke it the game crashes everytime. What mistakes am I making? I don't know much about pointers, so that could be the problem, it's hard to say.

Update 4: After countless hours of searching and experimenting, I was still unsuccessful. If anyone would be generous enough to lend me a hand, I'd appreciate it, as I've exhausted my options.

If I knew everything, I’d have done it already.
I appreciate that. :)

Odds are it’s in that small range I mentioned. But it can be absolutely anywhere. That’s part of the challenge.
One thing I found is that 107FA2D4 seems to be a recurring address in the game. Whenever I search With Anyone, the value is 00000000, but when in a Friend Lobby it changes to 1367XXXX. All attempts at poking this crash every With Anyone mode before the menu can load. This makes me think that it may not be it, but then again it's hard to say.

I'll post back with any updates; If I make any progress, perhaps more experienced hackers than myself could help me interpret it.

Update: After a short break, I have finally resumed my address testing. Apparently, searching for pointers was infinitely easier than it seemed, and now I'm slowly navigating through the files to finally nail that swap!

Thus far, I've managed to pinpoint some changes, however the game is still crashing, so I'll post back with further information soon.

After the address range from skoolzout1 I very quickly found the address where the menu ID is stored.
It's 0x1098B2A8
freeze the value of this address and the game will go to the menu entered in your cheat instead of the selected one
1 = Normal offline smash
0x17 = Online Smash with friends
0x1C = for Glory 1v1

But it didn't do anything useful. When I entered a different menu ID and selected 1v1 it just searched for match with whatever ID I entered. When I changed the value after I was already in 1v1 it brought me to the stage select screen but my selection had no effect.

@Sm4shModder In your linked video I'm not even sure if he is really playing for glory or it's just one of his friends that he joined after pressing the 1v1 button while swapping the IDs

@tastymeatball Pretty much found the exact same thing i did.

@Sm4shModder

Here is mine in code form. Its been a long time so some of these lines may be pointless:

Always 8player smash (test)
00020000 1098B2A4
00000001 00000000
00020000 1098B2A8
00000032 00000000
00020000 1098B2AC
00010000 00000000

special smash test
00020000 1098B250
FF000102 00000000
00020000 1098B254
02020602 00000000
00020000 1098B258
02020202 00000000
00020000 1098B25C
00000000 00000000

The bolded lines are the special smash modifiers.. i think... again its been a while. Im going off of memory.

If you view the address area of 1098B250 and change your special smash settings you'll see what they all mean.. This works on For Glory but you get DC'd because thats how FG works. If your gameplay doesnt match your opponents gameplay, you get disconnected.

I have other codes for this game but they dont pertain to what youre trying to do

Alright thanks you two, I'll try using these and report back. It seems unlikely that Toadstool would be using tricks, but then again I wouldn't be able to tell. Thank you :)

Edit: In the video, Toadstool said that he joined a friend's room, you can see that when he selects a custom stage, it still takes him to a FG practice stage, but it ultimately changes once the match starts (something to look out for).

Wait, so this doesn't actually affect the other players?

Also, could you tell me what values you changed for your first code? I want to make one for the With Friends menu. If the Menu Swap doesn't work, a rule swap might instead, so I'll be sure to experiment with that if possible.

Update: I can't believe it! It actually worked! I've never been this excited since I first learned to hack Brawl (even though I was actually quite useless here). I'm going to experiment with this for a bit and try to understand it better. Toadstool said there were glitches, and I can see them here, but I'm still glad nonetheless.

Thank you all so much!
