Use? Games only on a DSL.
Price Range? Don't care.
Slot 1/2? Slot 1.
Built in or expandable memory? Expandable.
Special features? SDHC, RTS, clean roms, cheat codes
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular No clue. Haven't been keeping up in the scene. Still have an old slot 2 Supercard.
Other? RTS and cheat codes aren't that needed, but would be nice. The biggest issue, however, is game compatibility.

Support slot-2 GBA? Don't care. I have a GBA with a flashcart and also play GBA on my iPhone.
Support slot-2 rumble packs? Don't care.
Support slot-2 RAM (web browser)? Don't care.
any suggestions please?

AceKard 2 sounds pretty good for you.
Or if you don't care about price, CycloDS Evolution.
but he said he wnted rts too if possible plus akaio is dead

I got my mother interested in getting a cart, but I'm not sure what to recommend she buy.

Use? eg. Purely for gaming.
Price Range? Cheap, but good (not a piece of junk cart)
Slot 1/2? I can never remember which is which (the top DS slot)
Built in or expandable memory? Built in preferred, but optional expandability is a plus.
GBA compatibility? Not needed, but a plus.
Special features? Doesn't need anything special.

Looking to buy an Acekard 2i , a few quick questions please!

a)is the AKAIO firmware a lot better than the stock firmware? in what way(s)?

b)is the Acekard 2i easy for kids to use (after the initial set up)?

c)does it act like a real DS cart, ie multiplayer, wi-fi in the games etc?

thanks!

If you really want Built in memory, G6DS Real is your best bet.
Else I would go with AceKard 2, really cheap and good card.

Hey guys. I would like some suggestions on a few different cards that are available. I first bought a CycloDS very soon after they came out, the first batch. My DS broke shortly after. I just bought a DSlite today so am looking for a new set of carts.

Use? ... Games/Homebrew/
Price Range? ... Sky is the limit, but preferably cheaper.
Slot 1/2? ... I want a slot one and a slot two card
Built in or expandable memory? ... MicroSD
GBA compatibility? ... Yes.
Special features? ... SDHC compatibility, automatic DLDI, In-Game Guides would be nice (that displays a txt guide right?) and real-time save would be awesome. Something that supports DSi would be cool too, I might get the DSi XL when it comes out
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular ... Not really. M3i Zero and CycloDS but just been checking prices.

Anyone have suggestions for slot1 and slot 2 cards?

Thanks.

You do know the DSi XL has no slot 2 eh? So I can't suggest you a slot 2 card for the DSi.
CycloDS + EZ 3in1 is the best combination out there IMHO for the DS Lite, have it myself and never wanted something else since then.
It has everything you want, except the CycloDS is not fit for the DSi XL.

If you want DSi XL, go with AceKard2i for the moment. But the Supercard DS2 is coming out soon, so might wait for that, because apparently it's gonna rock!

Slot 2 is indeed for playing GBA.
If you want to play DS games, go with CycloDS Evolution if you don't care about the price tag.
If you want GBA games with that, buy the CycloDS Evolution and the EZ 3in1.

Hi everyone, I haven't been up to date with ds flash carts for quite some time, but now I'd really like to get back into gaming. So here's my criteria:

Use? ... Games/MP3 player
Price Range? ... I'd prefer something cheaper, in range of 30$.
Slot 1/2? ... Slot 1 I guess...
Built in or expandable memory? ... Built-in would be a plus, but I guess expandable is more practical?
GBA compatibility? ... Yes.
Special features?... I'd really appreciate real-time saving and compatibility with DSi (thinking about buying DSi XL in the future)

I also have an old G6 (for slot 2) I used with my first nds. I wonder if it is possible to use it with a slot 1 cart? If yes, does it matter if it's a G6 if I buy a diffrent cart (like Acekard and whatnot

)

I'd appreciate if someone suggests a good and fast online dealer for Edmonton, AB. Thank you for the help!

Use? games, music, videos
Price Range? under $60
Built in or expandable memory? expandable
GBA compatibility? no
special features? reliable + stable

Right now I have a DS with a CyclosDS and I really like it. I would like to try to find a similar cart that would work on my nephew's DS, but that could also work on his sister's DSi. Any ideas?

Use? Just games.
Price Range? Under $30 with shipping. Catch: I live in Japan.
Slot 1/2? 1, top slot, whichever one plays DS games.
Built in or expandable memory? Expandable, the kind that takes SDHC cards.
Special features? Cheat capability? Only thing I can think of.
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular I'm using an EZ-Flash V now, I need a card with SDHC support.
Other? I guess the only other thing would be a card whose team does regular updates to support new games. I have a DS Lite, so I guess anything that's specifically for DSi is off the table.

Go with AceKard 2.1, that works on the DSi too. Don't know about the DSi XL though, best to research that first.
The G6DS should work with AceKard 2.1 via GBA Exploader (a homebrew, Google it)

So this criteria are for the DS/DSi flashcard for your nephew?
If so, go with M3iZero or AceKard 2.1.

Don't buy anything with R4 in it, it's just not good enough.

DSi only has one slot, the top one. That's slot1.
M3iZero or AceKard 2.1

Right now I'm looking at all of my options and I'd really like to start narrowing them down so I'm not looking at anything that wont suit my needs. The primarily thing about my situation is that I only use Linux and if I'm going to need to use any tools or ask for support, I'd like to know that I can stick to using Linux and not switch to Windows.

Nintendo DS Lite
Use?
1. Fully 100% Linux compatible. I don't use Windows and I'd prefer not to use anything that's not native to Linux unless there are no other options.
2. Backup Pokemon Platinum save. This was my original idea for needing a flashcart.
3. Homebrew Wi-Fi applications. I have a lot of ideas in this area that I'd like to try out on the actual hardware.
Price Range? As inexpensive as possible but not to sacrifice. Price should include everything a Wi-Fi Homebrewer would need.
Slot 1/2?
Built in or expandable memory?
GBA compatibility? I don't use GBA and probably never will.
Special features? eg. SDHC compatibility, automatic DLDI etc.
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular

Only read through the first few pages of this thread, but I think I've decided on the CycloDS. Just a quick question, people were talking about Batch 4 but this was nearly 3 years ago. Are the newest batches okay or what should I be cautious of?
