Long story short: There ist no way that a New 3DS system could handle such a complex game. Even if you're able to reverse engineer the source, get the graphics working etc., you would definitely run out of RAM. The CPU would also be a very big bottle neck. And even if that wouldn't be the case: The game would have such a bad fov that the whole feeling of the game would be gone.

But it would honestly be great to see such a nice game on a handheld.

Nor is FH1. My point there was just that it can be done in theory, even if it would take a complete remake.

The RAM is the big hurdle. Even with no optimization, if we ignore the ram and assume that the source has been ported, it would technically run. It might be 1/50 FPS, but it would technically work. From there the questions are: How do I get the source? How do I cut the RAM usage in half (Which I think I already have a solution for)? and How much can the FPS be brought up. The CPU is weak, but if anything will bottleneck besides the RAM, it would be the Pica200 GPU. Bringing the GPU usage down will be the hardest thing, I foresee. Good thing I'm a graphics engineer!

And, to be clear, it might need to be reduced to the point where it looks like an N64 game for it to run at 20FPS. I never said it would look good. Another hurdle is the ROM size. The FH1 rom is 8GB, but the 3DS uses a FAT32 file system, which can not accept files larger than 3.999999999GB, even if the card has space for it. So, I'll need to fix that.

I repeat:
If that was easy, everyone would be doing it to every XBOX 360 game already. Even if it was quite challenging, you'd expect it to have happened several times already. This is not something anyone has done - or at least not that I've heard of.
Yes, it can be done "in theory". "In theory" you could also turn a Honda Civic into an airplane; it's like you're asking "how do I attach the wings" and "how do I reduce the weight by 75%". The questions are absurd, sir.

Completely reverse-engineering the source code to games has been done very few times in very specific circumstances and has usually been a multi-year project featuring the combined efforts of a team of experts. One does not simply "get the source".

If you want to remake the game from scratch, you don't even need the source.

Hi. Do you remember the great PSP plugin called PRO Online Client? It allowed you to play online between consoles and emulators using the games' Ad-Hoc modes. Do you think the same can be done for N3DS and Citra?

It is sad that this issue was never fixed.
When you enter Nintendo eShop, every DLC considered illegal will be erased and you need to reinstall them. It wouldnt be an issue if the process of reinstalling stuff wasnt slow and custom install in my experience doesnt work with DLCs, only with games.
You can say "why you need to enter eShop when you can install anything outside of it?" and yes, it is true but if you want to use Pokémon Bank, it enters eShop servers (not only when you download the app through the eShop, but everytime you enter the app itself). If you want to transfer your 3DS pokemon to the Switch, you will need to suffer reinstalling every DLC on the 3DS afterwards. There is no easy way to enter eShop (and Pokémon Bank) without having DLC erased.

It would be greatly appreciated to create some sort of app that created "restore points" of the content tickets or some sort, because the actual DLC data is still there, it just becomes unusable.

I think I'd like to see a port of the 1997 Frogger game, and of Warcraft 2.
Both PSX games with the source code out there. (Although the Warcraft 2 one is more obscure)

There is also "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", the source code for the PC version leaked, it runs on Unreal 1, and may be able to get ported. I don't know.
And finally... Aliens Versus Predator, the original 2001 game. That could be cool to see ported as well. It also had its source code leaked.

I wonder if it would be possible to get Poke Transporter to recognize a non-cartridge version of Black and White.

it is easier to just use PKSM to do this, just transfer your BW pokemon to a 3DS title such as X and Y and use Bank

I mean, there's the PS1 Forwarder creator that runs pretty well as long as your system is a "new" version 2/3ds. Just inject your game and go.

Hey I just recently started shiny hunting for Celebi on Crystal VC, I’ve been trying to find something that could essentially count how many encounters I’ve done automatically

Could there be a way to have a counter for certain key presses? I.e I use Start + Select + A + B input to soft reset, whenever this input is detected a background app increases the counter by 1, which can then be viewed later and reset

Sorry if this seems stupid or simple, I couldn’t find anything similar anywhere

An app to sync save data wirelessly across ds and 3ds would be grest. I feel like the way Pokémon are transferred is a blueprint for this and with many of us having more than one system, it would be nice to easily update a save file so we can play on a different 3/ds/i

Perhaps the Pokémon comp is overly simplified because far less data needs to be changed and it’s all in a predictable spot. But in my mind the app would open and you’d select a save to work with on both systems. Then you would say which is old and which is new and the system with the old save would read the new one on the other system and recreate it or overwrite it.

Perhaps a system could be in place to backup the old save just incase there is corruption or you transfer the wrong direction.

a 3ds AND ds app would be helpful.
