Well you see, phil, in the dark dark days before the invention of almonds, "milk" was extracted from creatures called "cows". The less you know about that the better, but long story short, the people tasked with this... extraction were called "milk maids" or "maids 'o milking."
But we need not worry ourselves with this kind of thing, since we all know milk is bad for you.
