will it be possible to patch the firmware required to run games on a lower firmware? (for user on older FW, those using the TX-OS)

basically im asking if its possible to spoof the game itself and not the console so the game can run on older firmwares?

Spoofing won't be possible (at least for some time), but that's why Atmosphere will be on EmuNAND and TX is also considering EmuNAND.

but there are cart editors out there and it was possible with the ps3. I guess we wont know until people experiment when ts-os comes out.

Maybe for some games whose requirement of the higher fw is only to pester old fw users to update. But for games actually requiring functionalities of the newer fw your best bet would be Atmosphère's emunand.

It depends, there is really no use to do it. Plus the game might need something from the firmware it have the update for.

we've already been through this and emunand is unlikely to allow you to update to a higher fw while keeping sysnand fw not updated because of efuses.

right now they are working on it but there hasn't been a way to do it yet
